    They were never going to be honest here and say

    "Well we design the guitars to break easily so people will need to buy a new one pretty regularly"
    "Yeah, Guitar Hero is just the poor mans Rock Band for people who don't know any better.
    "We're going to rip off Rock Band 3 next year but it's too late to copy them this year"

    Because powerups worked so well for Guitar Hero 3...

    Neversoft used to be an amazing innovative studio, they had the first online game for PS2 for example(to my knowledge), and now they're clearly trying to hard. Unless you're doing the HARDCORE METAL thing somewhat ironically ala Brütal Legend you really should just leave it alone to the greasy-haired 40-somethings doing pinch harmonics in their parents' basement.
