Night racing only? I hate it already. Instead of coming up with NFS MW-2, it looks like NFS Underground 3. Yuck.

"Unusual choice of music"

It's probably set in Japan - Would coincide with the monstrosity that is going to be The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

Hehe, its reather too early to be suggesting its night racing only. Trailers are just adverts, so they put in the cool bits. Racing at night looks cool, even if gameplay wise it might not be so much fun.

They seemed to be going for the drift method of cornering, which didn't really work in NFS:MW. Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing. It certainly changes the mechanic and tends to only work on winding tracks rather than the streets and alleyways seen in NFS:MW.

Someone turn on the lights!!

Honestly, I thought they'd learned the lesson of not having the whole frickin' game in the dark with NFS MW - now we're back to the dark again.

What Talha said - I hate it already. But I'll still probably end up buying it :)

"What little we do know so far is the latest NFS title gets its name from Carbon Canyon in California, said to be something of a hotspot for petrolheads."

Working Headlights!

Reminds me of some PS1 games... that feature seems to have skipped a generation.

I thought it was a refreshing choice of music, after suffering through ages of bad indie rock and hip-hop. I'm no fan of night-driving either though.

MW-2? That would of been a really dumb move. It was called MW because of the blacklist 15 and the police that where reintroduced to the NFS series. Underground 1 - 2 was called 'Underground' because it was about undergound street racing.

As for night racing, I'm kinda getting tired of racing at night. If they would switch it up, or make the time and weather shift (like in GTA), that would be cool. Even time in the game would be a nice change, cause we havn't seen much of it lately (the red/purple sky aswell as rain in U2 was kinda sad, but sunset in MW was alright).

Anways, I'm looking forward to this whole thing abount building a crew (simular to Juiced). Same thing with drifting.

this is heavily inspired by battlestar galactica. not just the soundtrack, but the way the sound effects are omitted and the camera is kinda shaky-nervous. just imagine the whole scene with vipers in space and you get what I mean.

I think EA must have got a sneaky peek at the latest Fast and Furious movie before putting this trailer together.

Night Race - Check
Twisty Mountain Road - Check
Koto Drummer influenced Soundtrack - Check
American Muscle vs Japanese Performance - Check

Having played through MW, the thing I wanted the most was a movie after evry blacklist race showing the loser handing over them keys.

"... hotly pursued instalment..."

Heh heh... That was a slick move, there. Anyway, as for racing at night, I don't mind it, as long as the roads don't look like they're covered in baby oil, like they did in NFS:U. The headlights might be a nice touch. Also, the soundtrack is a lot better than the heavy rock / hip-hop score in the last fifty games.

Your lack of knowlage about drifting amazes me. To think you didn't know that Rhys Millen, a Pontiac GTO driver, made it to and took two wins at 2004 season finale at the Irwindale Speedway, and the 2005 season opener at the Wall Speedway in Wall Township, New Jersey... And the Ford Mustang makes a very good drifting car when tuned with some parts from Cobra, Saleen and SVT. Some Japanese drivers like Ken Gushi are even using them.

American cars might not be able to do drifts as fast as say Japanese car, but because they weight more than can drift longer and you don't need to left off the gas as much.

Also, Muscle v.s Tuner arguments are retarted, its never on fair terms. Its always someone saying "Corvette V.S. Civic" or "Skyline R34 v.s. '94 Ford Mustang", its always and unfair fight. The Corvette and Skyline are abviously superior to there copetition.

Is that a Mitsu Evo drifting? I thought that thing was loaded with electronics to prevent it going sideways in corners. Oh, and this trailer is so rediculously inspired by a certain upcoming retarded ricer movie, I've lost all hope for this game.

The new GTO is only 2, maybe 3 years old and production has been canceled. Its not like the car was out long enough for anyone to say "Hey, this things pretty good car."

And no car is made for drifting, period. Some are made for racing in general, but not for drifting. Your one sided opinion is based only on the fact that drifting started in Japan. The only real difference between and Japanese car and an American car in the long run is that American cars are FAT! They parts use to make them, plus the engine, is much heavier. Also American manufactuers love the big V8, which is hardly used in Japan, which prefers a 4 cylinder.

American sport cars where never really made to handle corners too well (maybe not in the case of the Corvette, which has very good handling), so of course they wouldn't be too popular in drifting. America is more into straight line drag racing, and this goes back to the 1940's after the war. But the point is, even though they where never made to, American cars can drift =).

You know, that Mustang with the RB26DET (Skyline engine) was pretty much just for show. All that drifting was done with a Windsor V8 version of the car, just so everyone wouldn't get pissed at the whole half Japanese muscle car lol. I read this in a hot rod mag a few weeks back.

And I don't think cars with 4 cylinders suck. Thats whats powering cars like the Lancer Evolution and WRX STi (flat 4). But a V8 front wheel wouldn't be a good idea. The car would lose some of its handling ability, plus, you couldn't push the car over 300HP without having problems like torque/understeer, especially if the car is boosted with a turbo/supercharger.
