It's probably set in Japan - Would coincide with the monstrosity that is going to be The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift.

They seemed to be going for the drift method of cornering, which didn't really work in NFS:MW. Not sure if that is a good or a bad thing. It certainly changes the mechanic and tends to only work on winding tracks rather than the streets and alleyways seen in NFS:MW.

Honestly, I thought they'd learned the lesson of not having the whole frickin' game in the dark with NFS MW - now we're back to the dark again.
What Talha said - I hate it already. But I'll still probably end up buying it

Reminds me of some PS1 games... that feature seems to have skipped a generation.

As for night racing, I'm kinda getting tired of racing at night. If they would switch it up, or make the time and weather shift (like in GTA), that would be cool. Even time in the game would be a nice change, cause we havn't seen much of it lately (the red/purple sky aswell as rain in U2 was kinda sad, but sunset in MW was alright).
Anways, I'm looking forward to this whole thing abount building a crew (simular to Juiced). Same thing with drifting.

Night Race - Check
Twisty Mountain Road - Check
Koto Drummer influenced Soundtrack - Check
American Muscle vs Japanese Performance - Check
Having played through MW, the thing I wanted the most was a movie after evry blacklist race showing the loser handing over them keys.

Heh heh... That was a slick move, there. Anyway, as for racing at night, I don't mind it, as long as the roads don't look like they're covered in baby oil, like they did in NFS:U. The headlights might be a nice touch. Also, the soundtrack is a lot better than the heavy rock / hip-hop score in the last fifty games.

American cars might not be able to do drifts as fast as say Japanese car, but because they weight more than can drift longer and you don't need to left off the gas as much.
Also, Muscle v.s Tuner arguments are retarted, its never on fair terms. Its always someone saying "Corvette V.S. Civic" or "Skyline R34 v.s. '94 Ford Mustang", its always and unfair fight. The Corvette and Skyline are abviously superior to there copetition.

And no car is made for drifting, period. Some are made for racing in general, but not for drifting. Your one sided opinion is based only on the fact that drifting started in Japan. The only real difference between and Japanese car and an American car in the long run is that American cars are FAT! They parts use to make them, plus the engine, is much heavier. Also American manufactuers love the big V8, which is hardly used in Japan, which prefers a 4 cylinder.

You know, that Mustang with the RB26DET (Skyline engine) was pretty much just for show. All that drifting was done with a Windsor V8 version of the car, just so everyone wouldn't get pissed at the whole half Japanese muscle car lol. I read this in a hot rod mag a few weeks back.
And I don't think cars with 4 cylinders suck. Thats whats powering cars like the Lancer Evolution and WRX STi (flat 4). But a V8 front wheel wouldn't be a good idea. The car would lose some of its handling ability, plus, you couldn't push the car over 300HP without having problems like torque/understeer, especially if the car is boosted with a turbo/supercharger.
