No wonder MK has always been one step behind SF. Do they really think this can stand up to the might that is SF vs Marvel?

It would be awesome to literally have the Adam West Batman, though. He could fire out Family Guy-esque retorts and have a '60s 'POW' every time he hits someone.
Anyway, on topic, this smells like a desperate effort to make people care about MK again. It looks pretty shite (it is Midway!), but will probably sell quite a lot if they market it right.

And yes, the 60's Batman with Adam West doing the voice work complete with 'kapows' cartoon speach bubbles would be awesome!

I doubt you're alone in liking Deadly Alliance and its sequel Deception, but they simply weren't good fighting games. They showed brief flashes of the Mortal Kombat style which won people over originally, but the actual fighting engine was stiff, unresponsive and completely dependent on dial-a-combos.

However, the vs DC Universe thing seems like a desperate attempt to cash in on an established comic brand and the fading popularity of the Mortal Kombat series, and, worse yet, the few in-game clips in the trailer clearly imply they're just trying to buff up the Deadly Alliance/Deception engine, which was already dead and cold by the time they were flogging it for MK: Armageddon.
