Ugh, this is embarrassing to watch...

Man, I loved Alan Wake, but I have zero hype for this follow-up. The first felt like legit survival-horror but this one, as Remedy themselves say, has a more pulpy B-movie tone. Screw that.

It's lost the Stephen King-like spookiness that attracted the game to me in the first place. I think it's a shame, but it might work out well for them.

This is more of a spin-off, not a direct sequel, for me, more Alan Wake is good thing, also this is shaping up to be a great XBLA title.

Got an 8.5 from OXM. Love AW and this will keep me happy till Alan Wake:Return

Its a spin off and not trying to be like King.

If this spin-off is successful, it will set the direction of the franchise.

@arcam: Let's hope no one buys it then!

The whole light vs dark thing was old before the first game ended. It had awesome atmosphere, but it held your hand too much in that the routes were narrow and you always knew what to do. The light vs dark mechanic and story would have been more interesting if it wasn't so in your face. It just make the game look like a parody of itself.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the game thoroughly, but those were the issues I had with it, and yes those people in the video were trying way too hard and it seemed pretty obvious that they were reading a script.

@arcam Not really, Remedy have allready said otherwise

This and the witcher are the only two things i want for my Xbox so far, I think some new gun play is good, though it would have been nice perhaps to have more projectile based objects perhaps that you could make ala Dead Rising style.

    Whens this being released?

I always liked the look of it but I never picked up the first one, but i'm a big pulp movie fan so this looks pretty cool, might pick both up now.

Only watched a little bit of this because I like surprises especially in games like this :p but it's looking awesome, different than Alan Wake but in a good sense like how Aliens was to Alien. Plus Remedy so far have not dealt me a dud game so I have a lot of faith in those guys!
