More Assassin's Creed II to drool over

Published 3 September, 2009 Duration 2:03

Oooh, get this. All sorts of cinematography is squeezed into this brand new Assassin's Creed II trailer, showcasing Ezio's repertoire of moves, skills and brooding menace. Lovely.

That music (Boyz noise is it?) is the worst possible fit to this trailer...it might be good music...and a good trailer...but that doesn't mean you should mash them together so disgustingly

...i hope that's not a Jesper Kyd creation...the soundtrack for this game...should...be good

wt.. music has nothing to do with the game theme ... silly music choice !!?
  • bunglebonce #4 3 years ago

It's hardly the Unkle track that was used in one of the trailers to the first game.

I'm a little disheartened that most of the trailer showed open combat. The double stealth kills looked good, but there aren't enough of them!

Looks very cool, more atmosphere than AC1 definitely.

Like the music, I think it is very appropriate for a hoody.
  • mull #7 3 years ago

I think the music is a great fit - Justice FTW! Not every frigging trailer has to have the same overblown orchestral aural blather in the background, you know.

The best trailer/music combo evar has to go to World in Conflict, mind...

Which ever person edited that together at Ubisoft Marketing should be ashamed: that really doesn't show the game well - poor dramatic editing, bad judgement of what to showcase and inappropriate music.

Good thing most of us have the sense to see passed a bad trailer through to what looks like a great game.
  • makeamazing #9 3 years ago

Yes very poor choice in music, just go for something classical or something by Clint Mansell...

Was the trailer jerking for anyone else? My internet is 16MB amd not normally a problem but the odd HD on EG TV seems to go crap.

So soon we can test the second take how it feels like to be an assassin. Hopefully you can really take down targets silently this time!
  • curtlikesmeat #11 3 years ago

Yeah the music is rubbish, good trailer though, it seems ilke they might have tried to really move the franchise forward instead of resting on their laurels. Also I recently went to Venice so am extra keen to wander round the streets.

Genesis is an awesome track. Just not really with this game or trailer :( However, thought the first game was shite so hopefully they'll win me back with this.

cool video. looked more like was for gta: venice
  • thesonglessbird #14 3 years ago

Bad soundtrack aside, I don't like the look of this.

I'm aware that was heavily stylised but it was very cool!

I cant wait for the bumper crop of games this winter

Intersting enough, you go to IGN forums and they are raving about the video and the music selection, come here to EG and everyone is mostly pissing all over the music and the video.

personally I liked the music choice and the video but then again I am a yank.

The Massive Attack song they used on the first worked much better....

That's not what I'd class as a gameplay trailer.
  • organica #21 3 years ago

Glad to read I'm not the only one who couldn't stand the music. As I was watching I thought:

"I bet this is Justice. I fucking hate Justice."

So even if they got their drab hands all over an interesting trailer I at least won a personal game of 'Guess The Shit'.

Blah blah music blah. Gameplay looks great, Ezio looks great, game looks great. 'Nuff said.

Some of those fight moves looked awesome. Choreography (spelling?) was class.
@makeamazing: jerked for me too. 16 meg connection.
  • gaselite #25 3 years ago

Genesis is swell but it's really very incongruous for this trailer.
  • magicpocket #26 3 years ago

at last. Someone has used Justice to great effect in a videogame trailer and unsuprisingly it took a French publisher to use them. Bo!
  • DB2k #27 3 years ago

There's less tearing in that Natalie Imbruglis song than this - what the fek. very poor.

    I saw horses!!!! \o/

I saw the comments expecting rap to be be playing or something...but in the usual Eurogamer message board style, this whole music thing was blown out of proportion...

Awesome vid! Looks like there are some epic set peices and the combat is looking much better than ever before, nice to see some new, extremely well animated parries and stealth kills.

The Free running element has been given some nice touch ups, was rather impressed with the way he used the potted plant to swing around the corner of the building. Glad to see this element remains intact and seemingly unspoiled.

Really looking forward to this one, they said they've made changes and it really looks like they've delivered, I tip my hat to you Ubisoft...this time ;)
  • magicpocket #30 3 years ago

Also, just thinking, but by adding 'controversial' or opinion dividing music to the trailer they have encouraged more people to watch to see what all the fuss is about.

I'm still in the 'it works well' camp.

Looks fine gameplay wise and the graphics would be surperb... if it wasn't for the trademark Ubi Soft screen tear! Still there's always the PC version...
  • Skooch #33 3 years ago

This trailer is very much like the first game; style over substance.

Here's hoping the gameplay of 2 doesn't follow the same trend.

where's the blood? don't tell me this was toned down for a T rating
  • Skorms-Boss #35 3 years ago

drool, no sound as am watching at work (naughty!) but looks amazing, may just re watch while the boss is at lunch!
  • Triggerhappytel #36 3 years ago

"where's the blood? don't tell me this was toned down for a T rating"

Doubtful, as it's getting a PEGI 18 rating over here.
