Tom has been raving about how exciting this is ever since he went to see it at the DICE offices, hence his extremely cheery preview. Frankly, we were less than convinced when he told us that there were few guns and no dropships, but we're willing to swallow our words now. It looks beautiful.

Thats how you should climb over stuff in GTA IV - allowing some awesome rooftop shenanigans.
Nice engine.

That's already one manual action more than there is in Assassin's Creed.
Anyway, looks great.

The opening run really looks quite linear, almost like some kind of stunt track in a BMX or X-treme sports racer.
Can't help thinking it ought to be a 3rd person game.

I hope the devs are getting some inspiration from Q3 Defrag.

I wouldn't be sorry. Considering it IS real time, I imagine you've just paid DICE quite a compliment.
"It's by EA!

It's by Digital Illusions, who are an excellent developer.

Expecting this to be N in 3D is probably a pie dream, though.

I'm a bit worried it might be a one trick pony, though.
Edit: Kangarootoo apparently posted exactly what I was thinking while I was still watching the video.

"I like her shoes...
They're hardcore rock climbing shoes. Very soft grippy rubber soles. You can virtually run up walls wearing a pair but they'd wear out in about a week wearing them on the street.
If you freeze frame the shoe that 'paints' the red footmark, the brand on it is 'loggo'. There's an Indonesian trainer maker of that name but I doubt that's connected. You'd assume they're made up - I mean, why licence the shoes a character wears. Although it looks like you'll see them more often in this game than any other...

I prefer the more natural approach to urban design seen in Crackdown.

also, +1 for shoe fetish, +1 for music appreciation. I've watched this several times and I keep coming back for more.
EDIT: and another thing, hooray for non-T&A game heroine.

Looks good though, here's hoping the controls will be intuitive without being too automated, and the less context-sensitive and QTE moves the better IMO.
