    Seems a bit pointless now to spend £30+ on MGS3 for some gimmicky 3D features when it will be bundled in with two other MGS games in HD for around the same price.

    Looks awesome. Can't wait.

    @kinky_mong

    That's basically what I was saying in the other thread - yet got negged?!
  • joelstinton #7 1 year ago

    I agree earl and kinky. I bet Nintendo are fuming. Unless they been given a concession.(i.e timed exlcusive of MGS1 remake for the cafe). I got a 3DS, but i now know which version i be buying.

    I wouldn't worry about being negged. People just like to troll and neg people who have valid opinions. And if you defend COD as i found out the other day ;)

    1. Not everyone owns a 360 or PS3.
    2. It's more convenient to play on a handheld. I hardly play my home consoles as it requires a commitment to sit down and play, whereas i've just got a 3ds and i never turn it off. Just flick it open and continue on a whim. Recently sunk 49 hrs into DQIV which i would never do these days on PS3.

    Yeh konami have pretty much sent this to die. It looks good though and I am sure it will be fun for whoever does buy it.
    I think the 3d will actually add more to this then HD if its just a straight port and the touchscreen will make the menus less annoying. But yeh 3 games for the price of one is always the better option.

    @joelstinton

    I wasn't worried - just couldn't understand why.

    I will buy this version, but only to justify my having spent 180 quid on a handheld that has yet to have any games on it.

    Well I already have the original two games, and i'm not as fussed about HD as some people are, so i'll be picking up the 3D one myself.
  • Mr.Spo #12 1 year ago

    I'll probably pick this up over the HD collection. Zone of the Enders HD is a must buy, however.

    You know why this comes accross as shit? It's EXACTLY the same as the PS2 version. That trailer they debuted a while ago suggested a total re-imagining. Being able to crouch walk ala MGS4, the threat ring as well as a much more vibrant looking jungle. Snake's appearance also resembled the way he looks in Peace Walker, with a more detailed beard and facial expressions. This looks exactly like the PS2 version with added gimickery. I guess Kojima just couldn't be bothered to remake the whole thing again. Poor showing by Konami and Kojima.

    Also agree with what others are saying, after the MGS HD announcement which itself is not really worth of high fives after ommiting Substance and Twin Snakes, what is the point in this? This will retail at £35-40 and that is EXACTLY the same price point the MGS HD collection will sell for. They're also being released at the same time so this is a suicidal move by Konami. The console versions will trample the 3DS version. I really don't know what they're thinking.
