Medieval II: Total War Kingdoms - Britannia

It's 1258AD in Britannia and, as usual, the English have been busy repressing the other parts of the British Isles and generally making more enemies than friends. Facing resistance from all sides, as well as from within, the armies of King Henry gather.

    This looks really good. I can imagine my old history teacher telling the pupils to play this instead of revising.

    One thing that always struck me as odd with the TW games is the fact that the cavalry is unable to break through the ranks of foot soldiers in any significant way.
    This is taken to the extreme in Battle for Middle Earth but I would think somewhere in between is closer to the real thing.

    Yeah and maybe spear/pike men should actually stop them in their tracks instead of letting them barge into them really.

    I think it could be solved by having the horses actually jump into the enemy ranks instead of nudging into them, but its not so bad the way it is.

    I agree, but if you catch a line of non-spear infantry unawares with a decent cavalry charge you'll often kill half of them in the first charge, any more and things'd get silly.

    Pikemen still need a bit of work though....
