This has amazing potential, but proof will be in the pudding, of course. If this is a space age Balgurs Gate, with the same amount of roaming available, I'm very interested.
Any idea when it is due?

It looks like KOTOR, just without the constraints. So it should be good.

Anyway, i want this game a lot. I'm a fan of Bioware's RPGs. Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, KotOR, Jade Empire. They never let me down, I really don't want them to screw the tradition they've been building along the years.
The fight scenes seem fantastic. When the first trailer came out I thought it would be semi-turn based combat like KotOR or Neverwinter, but Bioware makes a brilliant move with this combat system..
Makes me wanna buy a Xbox 360 right now ;D

I don't know how the XP will be handled if they're really that easy, but i'd like something more in the way of no-limit leveling. I want some uber-characters, with uber powers, that take hours to level. But for it to be a game for the general gamer I guess they'd had to permit both approaches: normal leveling, power leveling.. Difficulty that self-adjusts to your level would be good enough for me..

*edit* - also, I am looking forward to customising my weapons for MAS... er... maximum damage.

Seconded. KotOR was a great game, but the combat was very stilted. Keep hitting A or B and watch animations play out, heal, move on, etc.
Jade Empire tried something new, but the combat was pathetically shallow and it lost a lot of depth from their previous games.
I've seen a few videos of Mass Effect so far, and the only stick in the mud for me seems to be the fighting so far.
