Nothing new actually: I remember playing the first SOCOM on the PS2 giving orders to my teammates using the microphone.

i dont trust voice commands, especially in a game like mass effect

I have kinect but it's on my living room xbox (the "family" machine) so if the voice commands only work with kinect it's pointless for me. If they work with standard headsets then it could be a bit of extra immersion.

while it may be fine if your into voice commands, i fail to see why they market it as a special kinect thing (other than the obvious PR side of it), end war came out a few years ago allmust entirely controled by voice, and it just used the mic in the standard xbox 360 headset, and like #1 say this could be done with a 2 dollar mic for a pc. i thought they would show som commands which utilise the gesture commands of kinect , that could also work well when operating the omni tool.

I believe the issue would be that MS has a suit of tools for voice which you do not have to create your own. This would make it much easier for the developer to incorporate voice within their games instead of having to create the technology themselves.

What a shame. This is the only significant non-shooter related piece of footage/info thats been released so far, and its... well its garbarge. Im also not convinced thats even Mordins original voice. Sounds like Mark Meer, Shepards voice actor, stepping in to do an imitation actually.

All other information and footage so far has been 99% *BLAM* *BLAM* and *MASSIVE ASPLODE*

i thought that looked awesome. But i guess haters gotta hate...

Looks a lot better than I was expecting but can't I just use my headset mic? £80 is a bit steep for a microphone.

Voice seemed pretty responsive to me, everyone is going to moan about stuff. People love to moan.
