Six minutes of my life gone. The voice acting seems....well let's just see. Not impressed at the moment.
  • Monkey_Puncher #2 5 months ago

Bioware TV? What weird dimension have I somehow wandered into....
  • riz23 #3 5 months ago

After 41 seconds of watching that I have determined it is hateful and crass. I will watch no more of it before it removes any excitement I have for Mass Effect 3 forever.
  • Miths #4 5 months ago

I'm warming up for ME3 with the female trooper in SWTOR. She's also voiced by Jennifer Hale :).
  • StooMonster #5 5 months ago

    Make. It. Stop.

Less than a minute in is all I could stomach.
  • Eldritch #6 5 months ago

I love the fact that they brag about their amazing tools, only to reveal then that one of them is actually Excel.

I wish they'd spend the money on their characters' facial expressions rather than on marketing blurbs such as this one. Right now their characters' acting looks as lifelike as this:

It's like Ian McKellen dubbing Chuck Norris.
  • DUFFKING #7 5 months ago

The Bioware Pulse logo looks like a Gilette Razor ad logo.
  • GAmbrose #8 5 months ago

This gives out a rather major spoiler as well!
  • Springchicken #9 5 months ago

    BioWare Repulse.
  • dudefella #10 5 months ago

So Jennifer Hale is literally phoning in her performance. The jokes write themselves.

Re: "Pre-order Bonus Weapons". If these publishers don't stop trying to turn buying their f***ing games into their own little meta- mini-games, I'm just going to find another hobby. Possibly pre-ordering real weapons.

The best thing about those "pre-order extras" is that you'll get them in no time once the game arrives in the PC bargain bin - which it usually does after less than 3 months now.
  • anomagnus #13 5 months ago

Everyone knows by now, i spend some time defending Bioware.

But sometimes they make it really hard:)
  • The-Bodybuilder #14 5 months ago

Is this joke? Seconds in they're warning me that pre-order stock are ruinning low and I should do it NOW?

And I find EGs video player jarring.

@Eldritch The best thing about those preorder extras is that you're oftentimes better off not having them. Like with ME2, I got the Collectors armor when I started the game. Okay first off, nobody knew who the Collectors even were at the beginning of the game. Then when I donned it, I turned into some insect like thing (okay thanks for spoilering one of the main baddies up front Bioware). It had a closed off helmet so all of the acting was borked, and later on in the game, when everyone was supposed to be shitting in their pants when it came to the Collectors, walking around like a Collector had no effect on them whatsoever.

The same goes for these weapons. They create the game, balance everything so you get the exact right amount of challenge at every point of time in the game. Then they give you a heavy weapon as a preorder bonus, completely borking their own balancing. Great! Give me the one without preorder bonus that's cheapest please.

edit: accidentally called the Collectors Reapers

  • coomber #19 5 months ago

I wouldn't have described that as a 'trailer'. More, 'shit-pile'.
  • Djimm #20 5 months ago

This is why I love Eurogamer. EA puts out a flashy vid to stoke excitment about ME3 and we unzip and piss all over it - exactly as it deserves.

Does a 6 minute video really need whizzy graphics and a presenter? Wouldn't it have been better as a 4 minute vid without all that shit?

Also, you'd think they'd want to restrict preorders so we all have to buy the extra guns as DLC when we realise the game's far too hard without them...
  • Gunship #21 5 months ago

We should be thankful this game still has lines to voice act. By Mass Effect 4, they'll probably have streamlined most of that feature out on the grounds that speech is 'clunky' and 'vestigial' (the words BioWare used to justify its Dragon Age II 'innovations').
  • DurzoBlint #22 5 months ago

Ugh, more DLC pushing from BioWare right off the bat. They are really determined that you buy their stuff without ever taking in a review first. Only this time it seems like it might be because Dragon Age 2 has worn away some of the sheen on their work.
  • Ror1984 #23 5 months ago

@Spekkeh - you mean Collector armour, not Reaper armour. I agree about the full-face helmet though.
  • Anciegher #24 5 months ago

  • Kaonazhie #25 5 months ago

Don't fall for the supplies extremely limited crap.

Look at the Gears 3 Epic Edition for example. That's still floating around some places.
  • spekkeh #26 5 months ago

    @Ror1984 whoops you're right!
  • kassmageant #27 5 months ago

    Dear Bioware

Are you insane? you're supposed to be company that listen to players feedback, so please tell me why you insist on making these abominations called " bioware pulse", when clearly everyone F*ckin hates'em

    Sincerly

scared for life long time fan

  • jonbwfc #28 5 months ago

Um. You can buy the deluxe edition for the PC as a download (from Origin, sadly). How exactly is that in short supply then?
  • andromeda #29 5 months ago

Has Bioware just been bought by QVC or something?

I hate people who tell me I'm "good to go"
  • Rajin #30 5 months ago

    @jonbwfc

Physical copies have some physical extra's i suppose?

Well not that i will pre-order this game, everything that has been shown pushes me more towards the bargain bin.
  • teamtink #31 5 months ago

C'mon guys... whats with all the tacky programme making? Informative is once thing... this is a making of video in the style of a shaving advert. Its just concerns me what the final product is going to be like.
  • Pumpatron #32 5 months ago

Is there any new gameplay in this, or is it just that beardy twat talking?
  • dfunked #33 5 months ago

"Reminding you to keep your finger... ON THE PULSE!"
Who the hell is this beardy bell-end, and what does he have to do with my favourite series of games??? (no, I'm not going to call it a fucking "franchise"!)
  • Lunatic4ever #34 5 months ago

the pre order deal suck and so does the guy talking in this clip...
  • penhalion #35 5 months ago

    @Eldritch

LoL'ed at that one. You're right of course the facial acting is dire. In ME2 it was even ruined if you got the bonus armour, where you couldn't see Shepards face at all!
  • Cheeseasaurus #36 5 months ago

    Dear Bioware,

I care not for your crappy Bioware TV videos. I do however care for that new Mass Effect game you are making. Please stop churning this marketing pish out, finish the game, take my money and let me play it in peace.

    Much ta.

    Cheese
  • Farzlepot #37 5 months ago

    @Kaonazhie

Actually the ME2 Collector's Edition really was limited in supply, and can fetch upwards of 70 on eBay - even used.
  • TYPICAL_RANDOM #38 5 months ago

    Haters be Hating...
We all know it's gonna be a good game, and i wouldn't get so worked up about them trying to sell the game with this trailer, it's their job to do so
    - even if they do lie about the amount of stock they have left, that's what advertising is right?....lying?.
  • Nova1977 #39 5 months ago

@Kaonazhie Not really hey, alot of publisher tend to take CE stock from other countries (like they do with us all the time) to make up for the exclusive deals they strike with places like Game or Gamestop. The Gears Epic Edition/ Infamous 2 and there are tons more that have at the last minute been pulled from our shores so they can sell it elsewhere.
  • Khari #40 5 months ago

Despite the disappointment of DA2 I'm still fond of Bioware. However, the slimey push to shill their DLC and the cringe-making 'Bioware Pulse' format are just embarrassing.

The marketing department need to reign it in and get some class.

Good god, Bioware really are intent on pissing away what little remains of their reputation and credibility. They actually did the Home Shopping Network thing where they warn that supplies are "limited, so act now!". Only thing is, those products are inevitably cheap garbage.
  • Skirlasvoud #44 5 months ago

I think I've heard Bioware speak of "gripping in-game voice-acting" one time too many now. It has slowly turned into just a marketing line.
  • Genji #45 5 months ago

The video is pretty tacky, sure. But I don't know why some people are dissing the voice acting in Bioware games in general. The voice acting, particularly in ME, has been of a very high quality. I hope this keeps up the standard.
  • Genji #46 5 months ago

@Eldritch Seriously? Have you even played the Mass Effect games? The facial expressions and character animations are some of the best around. They don't look photo-realsitic, no, but pretty much no game reaches that standard.

If you want characters that look like the Airplane! pilot, try a Bethesda game.
  • TheRealBadabing #47 5 months ago

@jonbwfc Because every time someone pre-orders on Origin, a kitten dies. Only so many kittens born every day, you know.

Or would you like them to start using puppies, YOU MONSTER!!!!1
  • Alivada #48 5 months ago

How about I pre-order it from Shopto. Loose the weapons but get it a fiver cheaper and a day early?
  • Daikon #49 5 months ago

As much as I loved Mass Effect 1 and 2, I will not be pre-ordering this, not after Dragon Age 2...
  • stryker1121 #50 5 months ago

Please don't fuck this up, Bioware.
  • fisherpot #51 5 months ago

It will be interesting to read the reviews when this gets released and how many copies it will shift..........
  • Dexter2015 #52 5 months ago

    amazing system.... !!
  • Demiath #53 5 months ago

I'm likewise crying, dear mrs VO Director, but for entirely different reasons...
  • Sodding_Gamer #54 5 months ago

I love Mass effect. But I literally have no excitement for this one. And seriously this Bioware Pulse thing is shocking. I feel like trolling the Bioware forums just because of an abortion of a video like this. I pre-ordered both mass effect 1 and 2, and as spekkeh very rightly said, ME2 collectors edition I pre-ordered was a complete joke. So never again! The armour was useless and a bonus disc that had a trailer, and like 2 videos of which I had already seen on youtube. Even the comic was half arsed. I warn you all don't pre order a collectors edition this time!!
  • Madder-Max #55 5 months ago

I would slip Caroline livingstone one
  • Zerobob #56 5 months ago

Voice acting has always been weird in games. Shepherd's voice in ME2 had this weird monotone quality to it, while the line delivery was lackluster at best.

Also in Skyrim, half the characters seem to have normal natural dialogue, like a human being is saying it, then the other half of the characters seem to have dialogue that sounds like its straight out of House Of The Dead 2.

In both cases, I can't understand why they couldn't get a normal person to speak normally into a microphone.
  • BravoGolf #57 5 months ago

Incredibly cheesy, what an annoying presenter. The staff themselves were alright, they're allowed be passionate about their creation.

"So order your collectors edition now as stocks are running low already, THEY'VE EVEN RAN OUT IN SOME PLACES!!!"
  • Fenix` #58 5 months ago

I am really glad I started reading comments before watching the video.

Because they made me not watch it. I am still very excited for ME3 to have it ruined for me by a stupid video.

How can quantities "be running out at places"? It's a preorder. The game's still two months from release. They haven't even started printing the discs yet.

These marketing twits can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time but never all the people all the time.

Stop insulting my intelligence Bioware. I'm already worried your game is going to do that now that it's been turned into Gears of Mass Effect to appeal to the shooter crowd.

P.S. It's so amazing that Shepherd "has emotions now!" Maybe they should have thought of adding them in previous games? The whole recording part of this video makes it seem like they're making an indie game BTW.

If you can't tell already, I think this series is somewhat over-rated. I think ME3 will make a lot more people realize that.

WTF, how can they run out of infinite digital copies?

Also, it appears that half the weapons are in pre-order/collector's edition.

Disgusting. Bioware really has become despicable.

@Zerobob imo practically none of the dialogue in Skyrim sounds 'normal'. Even in the cases where the delivery isn't too bad, it'll be something that no real person would actually say, some completely random shit (DON'T TRY TO BARTER WITH ME LIKE I'M ONE OF THOSE SHOPKEEPERS), or something that gets repeated a thousand times.

The Mass Effect games aren't perfect in this regard, but they're at the upper end of the spectrum, and shit all over Skyrim. And I like Skyrim!
