    Starring Jason Statham.

    The protests weren't that bad!

I don't see how this could possibly be described as a 'reveal.' The Mass Effect trilogy is getting a third game. Who knew?!

Not the best trailer, but it did enough. Kinda cool too see a futuristic London being attacked by reapers; I hope it features as a playable location in the game. They should throw in at least one other major city for good measure. I suppose the sniper in Big Ben is going to become part of Shepard's squad. I wonder what he fired at: couldn't have been a collector, they're all dead. Maybe some kind of husk, but it looked like something else. Oh well, all in good time. If I am sensible, then this will be the first and last trailer I watch for ME3. Better to avoid all media content until release to avoid spoilers, but I'll probably watch and read everything that comes along ... *sigh*
  • Dr.Frappers #5 1 year ago

I'm looking forward to this and am putting all my hopes into this being a blinding finale to the trilogy.
I really want this to blow everyone away.

The guy that needs saving is like a white Laurence Fishburne. And I'm just realizing how much of a compliment it is CGI characters are compared with real actors.
  • Fairlane #7 1 year ago

me wants - now! nice CGI going on in there

  • munki83 #11 1 year ago

I wonder if the start game and end game will be set on earth and the middle is you running around the galaxy trying to recruit armies and your team to save earth. Very Fable 3ish idea I know but it could work better here .
  • hoster #12 1 year ago

Surely by the 23rd century London's skyline will be dominated by evermore elaborate skyscrapers and big ben will be relatively hidden below them?
  • dagas #13 1 year ago

I'm a bit worried it will continue it's move away from RPG and into action-game land. I hope that despite this attack on earth there is still enough time to romance the crew and do side quests all over the galaxy and such like in the previous games.
  • Madder-Max #14 1 year ago

it wouldn't make sense to go exploring the galaxy all over again cos its been done. they should include all lgame locations though from 1 & 2 to tie up all loose ends and allow access to the presidium again.
  • Dizzy #15 1 year ago

Not sure about *another* attack on Earth. Seems all games do this. Also they are suggesting you can defeat the Reavers with brute force? I was hoping for something a bit more exotic and SF TBH, especially after ME1 and 2.

Also... surely one Reaver would be enough to destroy earth.

    @Dizzy

    Firstly, it's Reaper.

Secondly, Mass Effect lore is slowly becoming like that of WoW. There is less and less integrity to be found, and sometimes there are outright errors regarding what happened where.

On the other hand, one could argue that Reapers are becoming desperate. They did send the Collectors (which are ordinarily used as precise harvesting tools during a Reaper invasion, no doubt) after Shepard and humans, fearful of another hero. And yet it doesn't make sense, because I sincerely doubt Lovecraftian space horrors are capable of desperation.
  • Vortex808 #19 1 year ago

This cannot possibly come soon enough,
  • Kanjin #20 1 year ago

By this stage, Shepard is probably badass enough to single-handedly wrestle each reaper.

    Looking good, please be good...
  • Alkeno #21 1 year ago

I think this is just the typical "presentation trailer", completely departed from the real game. No in-game footage, no in-engine cutscenes... They just made a CGI movie to give some insight into the story, but that's it. And the guy is clear about it "Shepard must bring help, they must resist until then". I certainly don't want the game to turn into yet-another-let's-save-Earth-action-game.

    *spoilers*

ME3 is shaping to be a new tour around the galaxy, but this time instead of picking up new team members we'll be picking up whole civilizations as allies: Council races are to be expected, maybe Krogan if Wrex is alive, the Rachni (if saved), the Geth (as long as they reach a frakking consensus) and some new friends that Bioware has ready. The final showdown will be on Earth's orbit. Let's just hope it doesn't turn into a RTS suddenly, like Brutal Legend, with Shepard commanding the battle from above; although a little big-scale ship battles and decition making would be nice.

Or maybe we reach Earth in the first few minutes of the game, Sovereign's nephew kills Shepard -again-. Shepard is assimilated into the collective mind and is given a Reaper body and we get to play the rest of the game as the bad guys, annihilating civilization by civilization. THAT would be a surprise.

Setting the trailer in London was a fresh idea, Do not think the London eye will be a round 100s of years in the future!
  • Daeltaja #23 1 year ago

Sounds like Craig Fairbrass who used to be in Londons burning... :)

Looking great, now i must finish ME1 and get ME2 in January, and get it all done for the end of next year :)
  • gabrielbird #26 1 year ago

They came for the millennium wheel. Everyone wants a go.

It is very ME2-ish as well. In ME2 you were sent to gather individuals for a FINAL mission. In ME3, it is clear we will now go back to the planets, like Krogan homeworld etc, and instead of just pulling out a single character, taking an entire race with us for the FINAL BATTLE.

I imagine a lot of that intermixed cutscenes of how well you've prepared them with items and upgrades which you collect. (or however their respective method to ensure maximum success will be, maybe stuff like "we need this piece of technology for a super cannons we can provide you with).
  • bad09 #28 1 year ago

Wow so it was ME3! What a surprise :)

Awesome trailer, already got my ME1 downloaded ready to install for the big 1-3 epic, gonna start a new character to go through 'em all. I do hope it's better than ME2 though, didn't think 2 was as good as ME1 personally.
  • Amblin #29 1 year ago

Pretty cool to know that we may get to fight on earth. Gotta wonder though how you can beat multiple reapers.

No doubt find an uber device to wipe them all out. Which would be a shame as ala freespace 2 (shameless weekend linkage) you fought to stop the enemy not defeat it entirely.

    Can't wait! =)
  • Ninja_Tino #30 1 year ago

I wonder how far into Mass Effect 3 the invasion of earth occurs. If it's early then it seems odd you'll be messing around all over the galaxy recruiting people to your cause when the Earth is very quickly getting destroyed. If it's later on, which seems more likely, this trailer could've done with a spoiler warning! It seems actually like a pretty big twist. Ah well, either way, this game will be one hell of a way to end 2011!
  • septimus #31 1 year ago

Going to be a long year.
  • Scopeh #32 1 year ago

By the looks of this, the Guys says Shepards has to bring an Army or Armada to save Earth, so maybe the game will start out with the attack, then Shepard must run around the Galaxy getting help and building an Armada, then returns to Earth and /heroism=Win?
  • knightmt #33 1 year ago

I would rather watch a film of this.
  • spekkeh #34 1 year ago

I'm also pretty sure it's remnants of the houses of parliament (although mirrored when you look at the location of the bridge, but still), which would fit with MI6 and The Clash (London's Calling).

Is it just me or did the reapers seem a little underpowered? I mean just one of them nearly wiped out the Citadel in the first game and its taken loads of them a week to kill 7 million? Just nitpicking, im sure the game will be immense (along with the entire last quarter of next year)
  • Cyclone #37 1 year ago

Maybe it's 7 million people in London or the UK that were killed in a week, and not just 7 million people on Earth.
  • SylarsStubble #38 1 year ago

You'd be forgiven for thinking this was a Mass Effect spin-off. Saving Earth must only be a small portion of the full game considering you were out to save the ENTIRE GALAXY in the other two.
  • EVERYGAMER #39 1 year ago

Not sure about bringing it to Earth. I'm happy to accept the existence of Earth in the Mass Effect Universe but I dont want to visit it and having known landmarks and places just detroys the epic sci-fi feel for me. I will still buy it though as the game is bound to be awsome!
  • r4z0rbl4d3 #40 1 year ago

Out of all the great games announced at the VGA's, ME3 has me most excited! Nerdgasm all the way. Can't wait to see the conclusion to one of the most epic stories in ages. Shepard's final(?) battle will be legendary!
  • spekkeh #41 1 year ago

Not sure about bringing it to Earth. I'm happy to accept the existence of Earth in the Mass Effect Universe

That works for me because I chose (DANGER slight spoiler) the human masterrace ending in ME1. But I can see how, if you picked another option, this would not fit well with your 'constructed ME reality'. Then again, as someone somewhere already pointed out, the Reapers/collectors already showed great interest in the human race, so this would seem logical.
  • NimbusTLD #42 1 year ago

    I just got goosebumps.
  • Huddy #43 1 year ago

Time travel! I can see it now, new bad guys go back in time to destroy humanity. Sheppard gets himself a DeLorean and takes a fleet back to save mankind. Sorry for the spoliers....
  • Caimbeul #44 1 year ago

I am really looking forward to ME3 and have 1&2 on both PC &360 but something worries me about the trailer. firstly, that many reapers = the earth is fucked barring some miracle and i am in the "please dont turn it into a huge save the earth from destruction action game rather than a super cool futuristic Sci-Fi RPG with a cleverer solution that blast the crap out of them.
  • Caimbeul #45 1 year ago

BTW the actor IS CGI not a real person
  • Scimarad #46 1 year ago

Holy crap! We surrender! We surrender!!
  • Ninja_Tino #47 1 year ago

Maybe the Reapers aren't destroying it because they want to lure Shephard to it, or are searching for a Prothean relic or... something. Time shall tell.
  • spekkeh #48 1 year ago

and i am in the "please dont turn it into a huge save the earth from destruction action game rather than a super cool futuristic Sci-Fi RPG with a cleverer solution that blast the crap out of them.

I'm with you 100%. The guy in the trailer says everyone fled and were rallying somewhere, and you can see Shepard looking out at the earth without doing anything, so I have high hopes most of the game will be spent building your army (although admittedly that sounds pretty boring, but at least it lends itself more to roleplaying).
  • VTurk #49 1 year ago

    looks awsome.
a game that hopefully lets us fight in london how cool would that be. i am well excited
  • Nithron #50 1 year ago

This better not be like Halo 2, where the trailers show a post apocalyptic, alien infested Earth which turns out to be one fairly lame level in the final game.
  • klassobanieras #51 1 year ago

Instead of elevator sequences, can we be stuck on the Tube instead?

    But anyway - ME3YAYWOOHEADEXPLODE
  • spekkeh #53 1 year ago

I just looked at the launch trailer of ME1, that is hideous in comparison. Sure, this is all FMV, but together with Batman2 it's amazing how the industry has grown in just 2.5 years time. A normal game dev making a video that's on par with Pixar, and blows Squeenix' work out of the water.

  • HarryPalmer #55 1 year ago

The London Eye?? Can't be a far future London surely. Also, who hides in Big Ben? That's got to be the most exposed and hard to escape from building in the whole of London ffs.
