Oh no, someone peed in my pants! :|

This looks amazing. Seriously. It almost looks like a trailer to a whole new game, not a DLC mission! I hope it's quite substantial, as it looks like it's going to feed directly into ME3... which is still many months wait away :'(

    Edit:
@GamesProgrammer - today, apparently. I had a look on xbox.com, but couldn't see it, so it may not have gone up yet.

Edit 2: Me fail English. Not unpossible :(

So with the being the final piece of ME2 DLC, I can look at making a second play-through of the game now. Would appreciate a 'Deal of the Week' selling all the ME2 add-ons though.....

    /keeps dreaming

This trailers makes sence as to why Shepard was so far behind the Reapers getting to Earth and destroying most of London in the ME3 trailer.

I've just started playing through ME1 again for an all Paragon playthrough (my only other save game is for a space-asshole playthrough) so hopefully by the time I get to ME2 this will be bundled with all the other DLC in a nice package to download.

Wow look at those flying pigs!!

Does anyone know if I can play this without having my old ME2 save? I got a new PC and it was lost forever (Finished it and I rarely play games twice) but this DLC looks tantalizing and a nice bridge for the ME3. Is it standalone or a mission that 'pops up' during the game?

Also, is it the same deal with Shadowbroker? That's another one I'd like to try.
  • StueyBoy16 #11 1 year ago

It is up on the Marketplace on the Xbox console as well.

Find the Mass Effect page in the Add-ons and Extras part of the Games Marketplace.

If it says there are 33 items then you know it's there.

    Mines just finished downloading :)

[edit] I am in the UK

Okay, but she died, already. There's going to be some major continuity issues there!

    I'm very dissapointed :(
The Arrival took me about 1,5h to beat. There were no new enemies or weapons. this time it's just you, your companions stay on the Normandy. The story is ok-ish (a bit like dead space), but the gameplay is samey. Corridor-shootout-corridor-shootout. All in all, a letdown, was hoping for something akin Lair of the Shadowbroker.
  • telboy007 #14 1 year ago

"Also, is it the same deal with Shadowbroker? That's another one I'd like to try. "

I think you need to progress enough with Liara's subplot before the DLC is accessible, wouldn't make much sense if it was available from the start.

Thought as much.. I actually wouldn't mind playing through the whole lot again before ME3, with all DLC though. Might hang off until later in the year. Cheers man.

The least surprising thing I've heard all day.

DLC @ 560 points is usually quite shallow I have found as they cant really justify the 800 point price tag.

    i.e.
    560 point Arrival = dissapointing
800 point Lair of The Shadowbroker = stunning
  • darkphoenix #18 1 year ago

How long to the X360 ( and PC ) GOTY Edition, then?

I am not paying for all this dlc, Bioware.
I bought the game on day 1, got the first two dlcs wich were unworthy of their price.

    Get your act straight!
Stop thieving players who support you.
  • darkphoenix #19 1 year ago

@560 mspoints, you have the "Severed" add-on for Dead Space 2, wich imho justifies its price.
800ms is just to expensive for dlc.
  • The12thMonkey #20 1 year ago

I found it well paced and enjoyable. It also perfectly served it's purpose - to hype ME3 and bridge the two stories.
  • richyroo #21 1 year ago

    @darkphoenix

I found Severed for DS2 a shallow experience. No new locations, essentially just replaying Isacs first couple of chapters in reverese.

But then it was 560 points. So I should of expected a shallow experience.

However, I cant really moan. I have spent no more than £20 on ME2 and ALL the DLC content so far. I shall wait until this new DLC is on sale like I did the last.

If you haven't bough Mass Effect 2, now's the time!

Seriously, the game must be around the longest Bioware's ever made with al the DLC taken into account.
  • Zander #23 1 year ago

I am also waiting for the "super duper" edition as I am not fond of DLC & I live in China so its pretty hard to get it. Come on the Shepard! Although I kinda don't want ME to end yet...
  • Jwarl #24 1 year ago

So the 2 disc Mass Effect 2 was not worth normal full game price? If ME2 was not then what games do you consider are?
This DLC is cheaper than a cinema ticket or two beers. For the players who enjoy ME this is good value albeit maybe not as stellar as Lair.
Sadly in this day of accepted piracy anything you have to pay for seems to be too much. If nobody paid they wouldn't make it.
  • Subdominator #25 1 year ago

Played through Arrival in about 90 minutes, it was a very shallow experience. The trailer shows everything that is interesting.
