That looks great! Really liked the original.

Hope they sort out the co-op AI though. There's only so many times I can watch Paulie die because he's decided to stand in a fire and maintain my usual happy-go-lucky demeanour.

So you'd rather have nothing at all (seeing how they won't be far enough to show a proper in-game trailer), or just a dry "we're doing Mafia 2" announcement instead of a well done, amusing trailer which shows you what kind of game they're aiming for?

To each his own, I suppose.

Besides, I see no reason whatsoever why the game shouldn't look like that.

Ahh... One thing I missed about the original Mafia was the lack of drive-by-shootings. In the trailer you can at least see how someone's using a Tommy gun out of a driving car.
