    Impressive...

Still need to see gameplay though.

I wish I could get this for my 360....

I wonder how much PS3 owners wish they could get it for there console too. How many more announcements are there going to be about this game before PS3 owners actually get to buy it!
  • dsmx #4 4 years ago

Since a LBP video is up time to wait for the inevitable onslaught of xbox fanboys who say it look crap.
  • bionutz #5 4 years ago

this game seems to suffer not being on Wii...
  • zoidberg #6 4 years ago

I don't like this THAT much ... enough to buy a PS3 that is. GT5 is :) Uncharted is :)
  • Ceatlan #7 4 years ago

I want to see the game part, I'm bored with the level creator.

I like how he spent all that time on the tree and it fell down, hehe.

I don't really see the point in this game at all. I'm sure once it gets up and running and there is a lot of user-created content, yeah. But I know I wouldn't really be that enthusiastic about making my own levels for little guys to jump around and such.

I don't have a PS3, so I'm not that fussed or starved for games. Sounds fanboy-ish - but it's the truth, right? And before anyone starts - if this was on 360, I still wouldn't buy it! Just not my type of game methinks.

We shall see though closer to the time! We need more gameplay as Dizzy said. All this creation stuff isn't really doing anything when you're not seeing much of the actual point behind doing all the creation!

    Looks brilliant, as usual.

What a splendid video. Some fat middle-aged american warbling on about spinning a bit of wood, moving it around, setting it down, put that one here, that one there, flip it, who-hoo here comes a tree.... who ever thought this would make interesting watching?
  • peterfll #12 4 years ago

ps I should have added, I am intrigued by the game but am growing tired of the constant content-making demos,
  • Rash' #13 4 years ago

This game gets better every time I see it. Those moaning about lack of gameplay, it's all in the trailer: "play, create, share". I can't wait.
  • Rash' #14 4 years ago

ps: The demo show's how easy it is create content, which is one of the fundamental aspects of the game. Alot of sour grapes bitching and dumping on one of the most original concepts of the year.

I can see the appeal for those who aren't in the games industry but for those of us that are, the last bloody thing I want to do when I go home is continue making games :-)

    Looks really sweet though!

Good idea linking the news comments to here, although the link is currently broken. ;)

it looks great for god sake, if its not your type of game then go away! it has great potential, that demo wasn't to say 'here look im making a tree' if you actually listen to the guy hes talking about how the game can be turned into something special BY THE USER simple minded ppl obviously cant apreciate anything creative.... and to those who want to see gameplay... use ur brain that was gameplay its up to your imagination as to what you are going to make the game as the guy said the allready created maps are there just for guidelines the rest is for the user to create something special.
  • bdgr #18 4 years ago

well colour me unimpressed. It's a tree people! it's a f'king tree! woopdedoo!

The best 'game' like this was SEUCK (shoot em up construction kit) on the c64.

3D Construction Kit was on the c64 and Amiga too, and that was, while groundbreaking at the time, as boring as hell.

  • AOFanboi #19 4 years ago

Why all the venom at this video? There have been earlier videos that showed the actual gameplay, i.e. running through the constructs you make and interacting with the physics of a "level". Have people forgotten these?
  • Rash' #20 4 years ago

Owen-b, Nothing. Don't worry yourself about it. It's clearly not for you.
  • Rash' #21 4 years ago

bdgr, yeah but that was a different game, from a different generation no less. Where's the correlation in that? I know free speech is there for a reason, but it doesn't stop it from being irritating...

So, I'm confused. Does this have anything in the slightest to do with LittleBigAdventure?
  • drumm23 #23 4 years ago

"What fun is a tree without some leaves..?"

    erm ....
and what fun is a tree WITH some leaves..?

Seriously, this is going to suck ass. Unless you're 7. Or have the mental age of a 7 year old, so Apolol should be a-ok.
  • dsmx #24 4 years ago

thanks to this comments list another 2 people have been added to my ignore list as they obviously are completely blind to what this game has to offer.
  • peterfll #25 4 years ago

Is it that hard to understand, the concept is interesting but I found the video like watching paint dry.
  • Eraser #26 4 years ago

It's nice you can create all that sort of stuff, but once you've created it, what do you do with it? I mean, just sit there and stare at your marvellous tree?

Wow, great. Just as pointless as Animal Crossing.
  • Eraser #27 4 years ago

@dsmx, so what does this game have to offer?

Go to game trailers and watch the videos from CES they posted last night.
  • CHAOS_BROON #29 4 years ago

dont worry dsmx, these ppl are judging the game by this video which i agree does suck a bit. all the video is intended to do is show how easy it is to create stuff......... yes the tree was not very exiting for all you little babies that need all these pretty pictures and lights to grab your attention, but it showed that even the most simple things can be created from well.. shapes and random things, all this can be expanded to massive levels and as the devs say its yours to make it what you will..ie: if you dont like it then go and murble your simple minded rubbish somwhere else.

Don't take it so hard. I can't speak for others, but what I think of this is that all I've seen of this game are the level building capabilities. I don't think they're implemented in a bad way or that the game "sucks". I'm not narrow minded like that. I like what I see in the level building department and I can see how one could do interesting things with it.

What I am just wondering out loud is what one can do with a level once it's built. Is the point to build an obstacle course which has to be cleared to reach an end point?

If there isn't any real point to building the levels, then I can still see that some people think they can have a bit of fun with it. Sure, even I could. But I'm just afraid that if there's no other point to it (similarly to Animal Crossing, which I mentioned earlier), the game just won't stick because it's novelty will wear off and there's no point to it anymore.

Additionally, to be honest, the amount of depth the level building offers remains to be seen. It does look a bit shallow to me.

Have a look at this video http://www.gametrailers.com/player/29494... and the 3 others there.
  • GitSomE_UK #32 4 years ago

Not sure I've got the patience to sit there fiddling around with a level designer all day.
  • dsmx #33 4 years ago

You don't have to, the game ships with inbuilt levels, you can then play with other people online on these levels. Or you could play on one of the levels someone else has created or play with other people on the level you've created. Or just mess around in the editor.

By the way there are time limits, there are enemies, you can die in the game and there are boss fights in the game. So it is a traditional platformer in some ways, however it's much more than that.

bdgr, i created an account just to reply to your comment.

You seem to have an issue with trees. This game has a fruitful physics and design system, so dont be sad, you can design yourself a pot plant if you wanted to - it doesnt have to be a tree.

I like trees and you seem wooden so I reckon we'd be great mates...
