    What an uninspiring trailer.
  • hosedoctor69 #2 5 months ago

    What a grey trailer
  • CORIANA_SIX #3 5 months ago

    aye...looks a bit dull
  • evild_edd #4 5 months ago

I still think the concept is interesting enough, but whoever thought that trailer would sell the game to the public needs to take a long hard look at their career choice.....

...unless that's the best that could be cobbled together, which would mean this is going to be a stinker. Will definitely await reviews before going anywhere near this one!

Someone should have told them the Limbo art style doesn't translate too well in 3D environments.
  • Genyus #6 5 months ago

I feel that if this would be a full retail game it would be a lot better..
  • javvyman #7 5 months ago

I can see why this was downgraded from a high concept, potential blockbuster to an Arcade title now.
But honestly...that looks miles away from the original concept trailer, or even the gameplay trailer that was shown last year!

    Why post-apocalyptic?

Always with the post-apocalyptic environment. Is this the best you can think of?

Between this and Rainbow 6: Patriots I get the impression that Ubisoft's designers are a bunch of border-line nut jobs.

You think this is fun? Does this, look fun?

I just spent half my day in a grey boring office cubicle and you think I want to come home and play this parade of grey depressing dreck?
  • Markusdragon #9 5 months ago

This looks like my cup of tea. Either that, or an ugly mishmash of badly utilised half-built ideas released in an attempt to recoup some of the years of wasted development costs.
  • Phishfood #10 5 months ago

looks like hes made of plastecine
  • Triggerhappytel #11 5 months ago

Maybe Ubisoft should have called this From Dust instead, eh? Eh?

Thanks guys; I'm here all week.
  • Ignatius_Cheese #12 5 months ago

This has 5/10 written all over it.

    Must try harder, Ubi...
  • 5lectro #13 5 months ago

Wow, it's a long way down from the first trailer to this.

It looks like a watered-down Silent Hill crossed with an unentertaining Disaster: Day of Crisis.
  • Mr.Spo #14 5 months ago

A preview I read recently sounded very interesting, but this isn't that inspiring, really. Then again, it is an unusual beast--somewhere in the direction of a "The Road" inspired videogame, which I wouldn't mind trying, depending on what reviewers say.
  • Doctor_What #15 5 months ago

I missed the first trailer, so I clicked on this thinking 'ah, I'll finally see why everyone has been so excited about this game'... Hmm.

I did like SOS on the PS2, and it has the look of that, so this could be a quirky and interesting title, but it's hard to tell from that trailer. I know it's a download title, but the graphics look very last-gen too.

Odd. I just don't know why someone thought that was going to get people anxious to play the game. Perhaps it will all make sense when the game is released.
  • God_Octo #16 5 months ago

I'm still quite looking forward to this, despite the insipid trailers. I think that the survival genre doesn't get enough love, and this'll get me ready for The Last of US and the new Tomb Raider.

Surprisingly Silent Hill-ish. I actually think it looks okay -- better than the last trailer made it look, anyway. Will need more footage with this one.
  • Chibi-Kibou #20 5 months ago

Well, I liked the look of it -.-

I swear .. Then again this is the first trailer I've seen.

Then again, I was under the impression the colour was related to the camcorder theme. But even if not, just because every game in the industry's washing its colours out to spoof better lighting doesn't mean a game can't do so deliberately for other reasons and all, and still benefit from the lighting pros of the decision.

Besides, it's worth remembering that the original reason for Silent Hill being swamped in fog was because at its graphics level, the Playstation couldn't render further than where the fog was opaque.

Is this the same game as the trailer that was released ages ago? If it is then fuckin hell, this looks like abit of a let down! This was a day 1 purchase for me, but after seeing this one i am not so sure now!
  • haruvister #22 5 months ago

I barely made it through the whole 70 seconds that was so dull.
  • twonha #23 5 months ago

I'm guessing "I am Alive"'s developers shat bricks when they saw the "Last of Us" trailer.

"Get yourself a map, you'll thank me for this when your lost in the dust and can't see your hand in front of your face!"

Then what use is a map if you cant even see your fucking hand?
  • _LarZen_ #26 5 months ago

I hope the atmosphere in the game is what wil make this poor looking game shine....
  • PeanutR #27 5 months ago

@ring_piece That's funny, I just spent my day in a colorful sprawl of an office, and I went home and played Borderlands. That's all browns, granted, but I still had a blast :)
  • Neil__ #28 5 months ago

At least they wont be able to blame PC piracy for this one bombing.
  • lockonandfire #29 5 months ago

His movement looks stiff, implying to me the controls aren't great. Fog or dust is traditionally used as a way to kill draw distance, and yet it's still visually uninpsiring. Look at that stuff where he's talking to camera, I am STRONGLY reminded of a PS1 game; bad model, bad lip-sync, bad textures.

It's looking pretty poor to me.
  • George-Roper #30 5 months ago

What will PC gamers do without a drab, bland, low-res puke of a game like this?

    ;)
  • Mazzle #31 5 months ago

I love the concept and core game play but the VA and character animations look a bit Dub Dub Devolution.
  • ashmon #32 5 months ago

Good concept, but wow are consoles holding the industry back.
  • The-Bodybuilder #33 5 months ago

@ring_piece Yeah, Post-Apocalypse is so boring.
Movies like The Road Mad Max, Terminator (Future Scenes, not that T4 wankfest), all boring.

Post-Apocalypse should be filled with sunshine, lollipops and unicorns riding on rainbows.
  • drhickman1983 #34 5 months ago

I'm actually intrigued. It wasn't the most interesting thing I've ever seen, but it has made me wonder how the game will turn out. It seems to indicate a slow pace to the game, which is something I'd personally appreciate amidst all the usual ADHD inspired noise.

I actually watched this trailer to the end, which is more than can be said for the hyperactive MW3 or BF3 trailers (please note: I'm not convinced this will be a better game than whatever military shooter takes your preference. But the trailer, as dull as it was, had more intrigue than the bloody "wooooom" soundtracked, fast edited, boredeom inducing trailers they spawned).

This still has great potential (esepecially with the japanese SOS games now cancelled in japan (since the tsunami), but I pray that Ubisoft doesn't misuse its potential, in favour of more Assassins Creed games. With Naughty's The Last of Us now chasing the new survival genre, they really have their work cut out.

I think that there's been too much focus on AC at Ubisoft, that this game has been neglected a bit. Its relegation to a dlc game, kinda shows they lack confidence in it, when none of their other games are gettin this treatment (Rayman and B G and E being notable exceptions).

I will still buy it, though.
  • LR100 #37 5 months ago

This looks like it's a PS1 game. Shame they changed it so much from the original idea they showed us all a few years back and the fact it's not a full title any more.
  • dadrester #38 5 months ago

    trailer looks poor...

    ...but...

YAY! no guns or mutants to be seen anywhere!
  • Wyrm #39 5 months ago

@ashmon You think this is evidence of consoles holding back the industry? You therefore must assume this is the current gen of consoles working at their limits. Go have a look at some Uncharted 3 videos and you will shit yourself.
  • tassletine #40 5 months ago

Read what it says about it in Edge as it sounds very interesting.
Basically this comes down to combat, or the lack of it -- One shot can kill and cause other enemies in a group to back off or disengage entirely like they would in real life. It sounds like this is a proper survival horror adventure game where you have to think about you actions.
  • BurnOutBrighter #41 5 months ago

I had no idea they were porting this to PS2!
  • marcofarlio #42 5 months ago

    Could compete with Hydrophobia!
  • Chibi-Kibou #43 5 months ago

@ring_piece Actually, PeanutR reminded me: Post Apocalptic does not automatically mean dull, brown, and drab.

Sure, it can and.. I think that works here. But need I remind you the majority of the MegaMan series after the classic lot are post apocalyptic? Or films like Agito and the God of the Forest? Or Phantasy Stars 3 and 4 ( with 2 causing it >.> )? And so on and..

And those works aren't just 'there was an apocalyptic event a long, long time ago and we're recovered by now'. Those all take place amid the consequences and are all really, really vibrant.

I know it's a downloadable title, but it looks like they made the graphics look terrible on purpose. What's with low poly count and terrible textures? It looks like a ps2 game with shaders slapped on to make it look current-gen.
  • Pikol #45 5 months ago

Why are those videos always loading so slowly
  • Pikol #46 5 months ago

The map, some camera angles, look like from silent hill
  • mcreddie #47 5 months ago

    Best lip syncing EVAR.

Plus it sounds like the dude from 'Lost'.
  • Dogme #48 5 months ago

I like this trailer, it's simple and understated. All they wanted to do is show us some desolation and generally tell us what sort of things we could do in the game without giving everything away. I expect at least one more trailer showing action in the coming months. And so what if things looked very grey? Anybody actually hear him talk about the dusk cloud covering the whole city?!
  • Chester #49 5 months ago

Is this a release for the PS2 and original XBox? The graphics seem to suggest it is...
  • mukki #50 5 months ago

interesting concept... but the gameplay looks... mahhh (aka dull)
  • mrblonde #51 5 months ago

Looks kinda like what happened to the once promising, retail but then switched to arcade only hydrophobia. Rather than scrap the retail title, bang it out on xbla with little risk and nothing to lose.
