    You're most welcome EG. >_>
  • Er-El #2 1 year ago

Glad to finally see the on-the-fly weapon customisation. Was worried it wasn't going to make it in the game.
  • RudyBurns #3 1 year ago

is it just me thats not excited by this game? looks awful compared to some of the newer shooters out! even Farcry 1 and 2 were better than this! not talking graphics, but gameplay wise!
  • CaptainQuint #4 1 year ago

Can't help but notice the distinct lack of texture pop-in on this; compared to the console version which are seemingly plagued with it.
  • Bagpuss #5 1 year ago

Pffft....yet another archaic, gimped console port with 2005 era DX9 graphics, courtesy of the shitty toy consoles....

Roll on Battlefield 3, lead developed on the PC, to show us what can be done when not held back by those fisher price toys.....
  • Utopolitan #6 1 year ago

    @Bagpuss

And how is a PC game any less of a toy?
  • coolbritannia #7 1 year ago

    Bagpuss, sourpuss?

Fuck, that voice is really getting to my nerves. I certainly wouldn't mind it if it just voiced what mode I picked and such, and not strike up conversations about concurrent global events or meteorological peculiarities.

Come to think of it, I wish sci-fi games would drop VO interfaces. The repetitiously monotone 'Loading' really annoyed me in Brotherhood's puzzle clusters, and sight always perceives faster than hearing, part of the reasons why the speech control never took off in Windows.
  • oceanmotion #9 1 year ago

Looks okay. I like the sound echoing the surroundings. Voice confirmed features are really pointless and annoying. For all the graphic prowess, it still looks rather average in places.

In this footage they show us a super soldier that kills easilly
all the human enemies. I'm sorry but this kind of gameplay
doesn' offer any challenege. Where's the improved AI they
    promised ?

If you don't feel the danger and the threate of the
enemies you loose almost all the interest.

Cryengine boasts of achieving Crysis but I as a player
playing this kind of combat feel I havent achieved anything.
I can only say that I feel disappointed from this gameplay footage.

Finally commenting on the graphics. the trees and theire foliage seem
to be very generic and look all identical like clones. I was expecting more
graphic detail and variety in the PC version.
  • oceanmotion #11 1 year ago

I loved the pause for second or two to see the sunlight through the trees. WOOOOOW! Where do I pay!
  • Deckard1 #12 1 year ago

    Ever touched a boob bagpuss?

Only joking, of course you haven't.

farcry 1 was awesome. the sequel was rubbish; a farcry from the original... the crysis demo was great fun (on 360). looking froward to the game
  • mashk #14 1 year ago

Footage of the whole of the 360 game here.

Prepare to eat your words. Looks very impressive for a mere 'console' game. A technical tour de force.
  • Goodfella #15 1 year ago

I've seen the campaign in action on the PS3, looks very impressive considering how old the hardware is in these consoles. I will of course be getting the PC version though.
  • StolenGlory #16 1 year ago

    Shit, uninspiring sci-fi FPS. Check.
  • Darren #17 1 year ago

@StolenGlory - Still better than another shit, really uninspiring military FPS, right? :p
  • StolenGlory #18 1 year ago

    @Darren

    Oh yeah certainly!

Not by a whole lot though :)
  • ISmoke #19 1 year ago

    Sold.

Wait, i've paid for it already.
  • Darren #20 1 year ago

If the first Crysis on the PC is anything to go by then the sequel will be a lot of fun as those boring FPSs I mention don't have power suits or invisibility for starters. As far as first-person shooters go, Crysis is up there with the best IMO, at least as far as single player campaigns go, and that's high praise coming from me as I generally find the first-person genre incredibly stale and predictable these days (I think this is why I've been unable to get into Killzone 3 to be honest).

(I am looking forward to Duke Nukem Forever as well though as I know it won't take itself seriously)
  • Golgo #21 1 year ago

No one shouted "incoming!" or "take cover!" or "fire in the hole!" or "tango down!"

    Call that a FPS? Pfft!
  • Canyarion #22 1 year ago

    I miss the jungle. :'(
  • bad09 #23 1 year ago

    "I miss the jungle. :'( "

That was the first thought I had when we first heard the setting and I've been utterly uninterested for most of the hype because of that. The leak footage restored interest and the demo of the MP was also an unexpected hit with me. I also like the lighter faster movement over the originals slightly clumsy movement, so I am looking forward to Crysis 2....but.....it's just not Crysis without the jungle, although to be fair I haven't played SP yet so could be completely wrong.

/ surfaces from the water, grabs a Korean and punches him into the sea, disappears into the jungle looking for more Koreans.

Why does the suit have an American accent now?
  • Pumpatron #25 1 year ago

I like what I've just seen. This to me is far more exciting than the recent Battlefield trailer, why? player choice, thats why.

The game will be as fast paced as you make it, want to be stealthy or charge in like a nutter? It's your choice. This has so much more variation and replay value than a strictly scripted affair you get with most recent shooters, sure, they look impressive in a trailer, but a whole game of that. No thanks, I want to play the game not watch a film.

I just hope it's as good as I hope it'll be.

"I'm sorry but this kind of gameplay doesn' offer any challenege"

And your basis for that opinion is...a gameplay video? Better wait until you play it before passing judgement.
  • DRUNK3N-_-DRAGON #27 1 year ago

    @deckard1
and i bet he aint bagged a puss lol
  • TheGuvernor #28 1 year ago

Considering the worrying trend that makes single player an afterthought in numerous fps, I'm confident Crytek will deliver.
In this clip the battlefields seem really expansive, enemies flanking & surrounding you. And lots of different heights in the levels too.

Wish the demo had been single player.
  • Syrette #29 1 year ago

Wait till you've actually played it, perhaps.
  • Ryboy #30 1 year ago

Look kids, this is what the console version wont look like.
  • c0Zm1c #31 1 year ago

Looks awesome. I thought the switch in location from a tropical island to a cityscape would make for dull visuals but it doesn't seem to have faired that badly at all (although I'm sure the new engine helps a lot!)
  • EthanWoods #32 1 year ago

Amazing, absolutely amazing. You give people a suit of augmented powers (which can then be modified), huge environments, weapon customisation, great graphics and a promising looking story (two award-winning Sci-Fi writers working on it), and its STILL counted as a generic FPS.

As for those calling it a console port, any idiot and his dog can look up the videos where they show you how they built the game simultaneously, and simply scaled the console versions back. They were showing that with the engine before we knew anything about the game, bar its existence.
  • GreatBlackthorn #33 1 year ago

@EthanWoods: Couldn't agree more. If anything this video reassured me against the 'console port' argument. No chance in hell you'd be able to do such in-depth customisation. In fact that's clearly MORE complex than the first game.
