As if having to wait for L.A. Noire to come out wasn't tortuous enough, now they are throwing retailer exclusive missions into the mix to complicate things further. ***Goes back to watching L.A. Confidential for the 8th time since Saturday***

Agreed. I don't mind weapons/costumes etc being dealer specific offers, but making actual gameplay a dealer specific offer is a completely stupid thing to do.

I'll wait till they are all downloadable and pay through the nose for what should really be part of the game anyway.

I don't use Play.com, why make me suffer, cant you just have it for anyone who pre-orders. Especially when it looks like a good piece of content.

Exclusive missions can fuck off. So can play.com and their 2 weeks delivery times and shit customer service. No amount of exclusive content is going to make me order from you...

""A Slip of the Tongue" is a bonus case from the Traffic Desk in which a seemingly run of the mill car theft ends up sparking an explosive investigation into the largest auto fraud racket the city has ever seen. With the stolen cars piling up and questionable characters at every turn, can you help Cole Phelps crack the biggest case so far in his career?"

that case doesnt really sound that intriguing, does it?

All of the store promotion DLC will be available for download at a later date.

...and what do I do if Walmart doesn't exist where I live?

As this is one of the few games I want on release day, there is zero chance of me ordering from play.com, DLC or not. In fact, since email-gate I haven't even considered shopping there. Ah well, I may be missing out on this but I'm still looking forward to this game enormously.

I'll wait until it's out as DLC. I have a play.com account but really object to this kind of thing so I'm quite happy to cut off my nose to spite my face and pay extra.

It would take a lot to tempt me away from Amazon Prime and this isn't it, I assume it's going to be available as DLC for everyone at a later date.

    LazyNinjaUK

I encourage you to look back at the proper old film noir, not neo noir stuff like LA Confidential.

Or you could just pre-order from GAME and get two pieces of content straight off the bat...
  • orangpelupa #14 1 year ago

now if these dealer exclusive is actually already on-disc content. but just disabled/enabled, i suspect some hacker will come a way to enable it....

atleast on jtagged Xbox and PS3 on CFW.

or i just hope the exclusive will become free DLC after some time. Just like BFBC2 in PC. all dlc are Free

Ugh, retailer exclusive content serves little other purpose than to do my fucking skull in it seems.

For me it's a little bit too much "uncanny valley". But nevertheless seems promising.
