Unless its on on rails type shooter its just not going to work effectively.
I suspect even the 1st party devs understand this.
Still, pretty clever stuff right there.

Agreed tbh. Im sure 1st Party dev's could get more out of it.
But it does pose a few questions. How are you going to move effectively or shoot accurately without some sort of physical interaction (Pad, buttons or stick). Its going to be very difficult.
Im sure the 1st party devs are working on things, but I cant see a GOW Kinect Edition being released in the usual makeup.

Actually a modder showed how you can do this very easily with Kinect. One hand does movement. depending on where your arm is from your body, would depend on how fast you go forward and backward. The other hand does left/right/up/down. Shooting was done using the motion of shooting a gun where your hand would recoil. This works fine of course for shot guns and things that shoot one at a time, but for machine guns, that type of mechanic was not demonstrated.
Anyway this video is just showing kinect on the PS3 not how well you can play a game like KZ3 using Kinect. The great thing about Kinect is that you do not have to do the full body tracking if you do not want to. Just using certain parts of the body improves speed and accuracy so I believe if someone really wanted to, they could make a decent KZ3 experience using Kinect.

No, its just fundamentally shit using a camera as a controller for an FPS.
how do you actually move?
-run on the spot?
-stand at one side of the room or near the camera to go that way?
Think about it. reagrdless of implementation method, it would be complete turd.
Microsoft/developer of kinect games in this area have already done the best thing they can with it. it moves for you, and you aim and shoot.
-Edit would the negative clicker like to actually reply to my opinion rather than just blindly clicking the "-" button
Anyone that has an idea of how kinect would ever work with an fps, please raise you voice?

haha...
go to Youtube, search for video of Kinect Dead Space 2.
it use Kinect + Wiimote on PC.
looks awesome
even the "Stomp" is really a "Stomp".
and thats just a "hack" of current game that NOT designed to be used by Kinect wiimote.
i just hope MS fast release the official Kinect SDK to PC. and wait for PC indie developer to make Kinect Wiimote game

So you're telling me that MS should start to release a peripheral for a peripheral?
Something tells me that market may be a little shallow...
I'm not saying you are wrong, because you clearly aren't. but unless ms admit that some form of controller is required then... hmm i better shutup before some xbox guys get angry at me...
