Featured in the CES presentation, this collection of hit response animations illustrates the variety and realism of the animation of the Helghan post shooting. Of course, we're not sure just how realistic they are, having never shot anybody, but we did watch 'In Bruges' the other night and some people do get shot in that.

So many shooters get this wrong for some reason, even tough hit animations can have such an impact on the experience.
It's the main reason I still have fond memories of playing Timesplitters 2 way back.

...and from a tech standpoint; really nice blending of authored animation and physics is a difficult thing to achieve, and I think they've done a really nice job here.

true it is done alot but it does work well at times mixes the horror of war and violence with calm music.
best use ever of classical music with war is in apocolyspe now ( think thats the right film" when that sargent attacks a veitnam base just so he can go surfing.
they attack in helicopters with ride of the valkyers playing in the background sheer epic and its still classical music but more pacy and rushed. it works well.
same could be said about the countless gaming vids on youtube of violent scene mixed in with slipknot and that thats always being done over and over again.

now thats more like it EG !!! if thats not the most beautiful video i have ever seen i dunno what is"
If that's the most beautiful video you've ever seen, then you have serious problems, or you don't get around enough.

"If that's the most beautiful video you've ever seen, then you have serious problems, or you don't get around enough. "
sorry i dont have the time to take in the sheer beauty of videos like roses blossoming or two people hugging or nature taking on its full flow of all the seasons, but i've noted your concern over me and i will try to study and love videos of this type.
or i could just carry on doing what i like and not give a shit about people like you hating on stuff other people tend to find decent and entertaining.
i like these games i like these videos linked to these games and im sure other people do to
so please dont give out witty useless silly comments like " you should get out more".
pretty sure you should do the same spending WAAAY to much time critising what people think of certian things.

Care to share which game trailer then counts as 'inspired' in your book?
BTW, this was on gametrailers under "Ballet of death" almost a week ago. Not the first time EG is a bit late.

When Microsoft used Gary Jules' Mad World for their Gears of War adverts, they shyed away from the violence of the game and instead focused on the atmosphere of the world you were playing in, and the music and visuals were a perfect marriage. With this video, it feels more like something a sociopath would dream up; hey look at the pretty patterns of blood flying out of his head! Look how he dances around whilst on fire! Awesome!

Well, to be honest, a trailer is just as inspired as it's source material, seeing as you use footage from the game itself to make a trailer as such. So I would go for any game which looks different from norm, such as Okami, Mirrors Edge, Bioshock, Madworld, etc.
I was talking about the choice of music, learn to read.

Don't worry about it bozzy, people on the net take out lifes little frustrations on people in their monitor. In real life he would not say that to you, in real life he probably sucks big black cocks for a living."
No, I would definitely say it real life too. I wouldn't expect such long winded, whiney, defensive responses though. Anyway, good luck with your GCSEs guys.

It was nice that they focused on a different type of music, but "perfect marriage"? Think about the lyrics and what they actually mean. They are very little to do with the situation in Gears, unless you take them out of context and just look at hand picked individual lines.

It would be nice if someone could give that poor aria a rest and find another piece of music to do the same job. I can see Delibes spinning in his grave in response to all the royalties he should have.
