Killzone 2 - Gameplay

It's not often that you get to play the aggressor in a game, but with Killzone 2 you're right there on the enemy's turf, putting the virtual boot in. Have a look at what sort of resistance to expect from the forces of Helghan.

    LOL who ever is playing is not good at these types of games!

    Whats with the dodgy voices in the landing sequence.

    those landing craft are hilariously bad. What's to stop the soldiers flying/falling out? Apart from that it looks good, nice environment destruction but is it any different from the other 5,423 FPS's out there?

    God yeah I can't stand bad game demo-ers. The bit where they were hovering at the bottom of some stairs I was internally screaming "GO UP AND TAKE COVER INSTEAD".

    Nice graphics and animation but CoD style mayhem + grunts and tougher grunts in armour suits + gun turrets + vehicle sections still = typical shooter.

    I thought the AI was meant to be good? It's the same as in every other shooter. It's lucky the enemy all stop attacking for that cut scene at the end.

    I dunno, Dan W playing the game and commenting on the game AI in the preview, and us commenting on a video in here. I guess we'd only find out once we hit the thing for ourselves.

    Looks fantastic - very gray/brown but later levels should be more colorful as far as I know.
    Not so convinced about the gameplay - but I never liked the COD games either.

    Dan W over hyping the game AI and features as usual. This is undoubtedly the best FPS on the PS3 but, compared to the rest of the shooters out there, it's nothing special. Will I buy it? Hell yes! My PS3 is gathering dust and I'm actually eyeing Motorstorm pacific with that "I can always trade it later" attitude of a desperate man!

    It is the best on the PS3 but nothing special compared to the critically acclaimed Bioshock or COD4 which are also on the PS3. Good fanboy logic there.

    If people want to play this as a run and shoot game then they wont get far. I am more inclined to listen to people who have played the game and they all said you can do what this guy is doing in this video and get very far.

    Are people complaining that a war ravaged alien industrial wasteland which has a toxic atmosphere is mainly brown-grey and lacking in day glo luminous colours?

    Were you lot watching the same video? I thought it's looking pretty good. It's a war ravaged planet it's supposed to be fucked and it's supposed to be grey.

    Obviously the guy in the demo is playing like a tard (lobs grenade then runs onto it WTF?!) and has the settings set to rookie. The amount of hits he took prior to damage showing was clear it was being played on first time on an FPS.

    I reckon it'll be pretty testing when you up the difficulty levels.

    I thought the arc tower blowing up looked fantastic! Love the smoke effects. Other than that, not so special. And I especially hate that one guy during the landing sequence trying to sound manlier by deepening his voice.. I really hope he has a tiny part in the story and is killed immediately!

    Looks about the same as the first one in terms of gameplay, which wasnt all that bad but certainly wasnt anything to write home about.

    the player sucks man i dunno how many times he missed easy shots or shot bedie them,i know sticks aint a mouse but come on!

    And i hope to god that that was super easy mode other wise i'm gonna cry this looks so good don't want it ruined.

    The guy playing the game in this clip completely ruins any hope of getting a decent impression of the game. It's like watching my Dad have a go.

    I'm sure Killzone 2 must be better than it looks on this evidence.

    The characters look like they were rejected from Gears of War for being too weedy, not having gruff enough voices, or big enough biceps.

    Well they are supposed to be normal troops, not uber commandos (like the Gears gang ;)

    I loved the original killzone and I'm pretty damn sure I'm going to love this. Looks fantastic. As long as reviews are 8 or more its a definite buy for me even at full price. If its a 7 or less I'll probably wait until cheaper but I'm still definitely going to get it.

    Looks awesome, can't wait until it comes out.

    When I read the comments saying "Man the player is bad" etc I thought 'He can't be as bad as some of the other people I've seen' But I think this video settles it... Worst, Player, Ever.

    The reason its grey and brown is because its realistic, if you look outside what do you see? Grey and... Brown! Yeah well done! Sorry but as much as you want it to be it can't be bright pink, green, blue, red and yellow, all the primary colours you can think of like Halo etc.

    Personally I like the greys and browns it gives it a more oppressive atmosphere which is what the game is trying to achieve I guess. Its not like they couldn't have used more colour if they wanted to. I mean I'm pretty sure the ps3 has a palette more than about 8 colours so there isn't a problem. Is there a highly rated dayglo fps I don't know about.

    In my opinion - 6 on EG at best. Another FPS, with another "save the world" theme, with another EVERYTHING. Graphics are nothing to write home about (see - Dead Space), sound - generic, gameplay - don't get me started on that, replaybility - zip, zilch, zero, nada. Originality - erm... Goes like this - "we copy CoD4, GoW1, GoW2, CoD5, FEAR, Condemned, und Halo 1-3 because we really screwed up that 'it's not pre-rendered' thing on our first showing.

    P.S. I do not own any of the consoles. I ain't a fanboy. I just see crap, when I see it. And this is crap...
