    I have spotted at least 3 actors from Mad Men in these trailers that rockstar have been showing.

    I hadn't read anywhere that actors from Mad Men (were in the game) prior to seeing it, I just sat there open mouthed and thought 'holy shit, that's so and so from Mad men' - went and googled the fact and hey presto, pretty remarkable imo. The facial expressions are superb, better than heavy rain and that's tough.

    Looks great, can't wait now. Just over 2 weeks to go.

    That looked amazing...Is this for the PC too?

    @Softie2k - Sadly, no. Like the awesome Red Dead Redemption before it, if you want to play L.A. Noire you'll have to buy it for the Xbox 360 or PS3.

    I can't decide whether I'm more excited about this game or The Witcher 2. Either way, it looks like May is going to be a cracking month for quality games, what with those and DiRT 3 too.

    That facial animation is fucking incredible!

    Just goes to show how on the ball Rockstar's casting directors are at spotting raw talent, as I'm pretty sure Mad Men wasn't about when they chose the actors for theirs roles in the game.

    As lovely as the facial animations are, I'm more excited about the gameplay. The minute someone compared to the old adventure / point-and-click games I was there. The rest is just the icing on the delicious old-school cake...

    @God_Octo
    I think it will be more than just old school - the 'point n click/investigate' type of gameplay has been neglected since the 90s, but now the tech is good enough to really expand on the mechanics of such games. Heavy Rain and LA Noire are the start of a revival and renewal of the old school I think.

    There's an article about LA:N detailing how they deal with situations where you miss a clue, or fail to crack a witness - you may miss portions of the game if you do well/bad, but they have branching mission structures to make sure you can still complete cases if you miss a vital piece of evidence - i.e. you miss the niteclub matchbox at crimescene then eventually maybe someone goes to the station with info about the club so you know to go there (and result in a sub standard cop-rating as you had to rely on info turned in rather than evidence). Or you may skip a housecall on a witness, and the subsequent questioning if you found enough evidence to progress without the need to visit a witness.

    It's that kind of branching mission structure that gets me wet!

    Hasn't this game been in development for a while? It's always a worry...
  • Alatair #11 1 year ago

    Uhhh, wish they'd release it on pc so a skin of Phoenix Wright could be slapped on the main protagonist and shout "objection" at random intervals before sweating heavily.

    @Softie2K:

    Most Rockstar games end up having prolonged development periods, just look at Red Dead Redemption and GTa IV!
