Anyone seen the pies? No? Yarnton ate them all? Oh.

I feel sorry for this guy - every day he goes to work as head of the NUK organisation, knowing that he is fed a pile of crap from Japan, has no idea what the company's strategy is, and isn't given enough information to defend the obvious mistakes the company makes.

"Just how full is Santa's sack going to be?"

Why does that sound so dirty?!

Dude, I don't have a TV, only a projector. If Nintendo is so keen on being a purely gaming console, why is it made only for the TV? No DVD goes well with no TV, doesn't it :p? So does Wii have a VGA output?
Anyway, the poor guy, I agree with brokenkey there.
And of course it's not bad to have an internet browser with only around 400Euro (Wii+Monitor) but only if I don't have to pay an adapter that costs 50 Euros for it.
Does anyone know an adapter that plugs in as a cable to Wii and ends with a VGA? Don't want extra boxes around the house...

which you get in the US... and it costs only $249 which is £135. No, you are making extra.
They do set a price - the price retaillers buy at. Thats set and that leads the retail price - the spin isn't working David, some of us actually have a brain.

Browsing in non HD will be a bit horrible as most websites are designed for PC screens at 1024x768 these days...

But for ONCE Ninty is not screwing over Europe as much as they have in the past, (unlike the Sony idiots) Which is a good thing.

    @bionutz

"So does Wii have a VGA output?"

No, it has S-video and you can pick up a VGA converter cable for it at a decent price.

But yeah, Yarnton, ditto brokenkey, Yarnton has nothing, no goss, nothing. For general purposes he's almost as much of a pundit as the regular gaming journos. Except to avoid more embarrassment, he simply doesn't comment. But again, he's basically stiffed with playing out the company line on important questions like price (the price, even though its the most expensive, is still tolerable in my book) or the bundled software.

To be reasonable, Nintendo Europe is in the middle of Germany. -The UK office is a small rented industrial unit in Slough, so Yarnton isn't exactly near the centre of gravity for Nintendo in Europe.

...small rented industrial unit in Slough

Priceless :D. And there was I thinking he was based in Brent.
  • Chtulie #14 5 years ago

His price reasonings in the beginning are awefully similar sounding to the ones Sony has been giving for their PS3.

American price dousn't include tax, british one does. The gap is there, but not as big as it would seem at first sight.
  • theweaze #15 5 years ago

seriously though this guy is not selling anything hes just boring

"The UK office is a small rented industrial unit in Slough"

That could explain why Nintendo hates us so, the Japanese board visited once and opted never to return.

    Thanks Slough.
