    Heheh, 'lightpoles'. Those crazy Americans.
  • mkreku #2 3 years ago

God I hate that constant "electricity sound" that accompanies the hero. Electricity doesn't make sounds! And even if it did, couldn't they have made it sound cooler? And not just like a constant buzzing sound? Electricity usually goes BOOM when we see it!

This game really does look fantastic.
  • Goodfella #5 3 years ago

This game really does look fantastic.

@ mkreku, yeah it would be a great game with total silence when you 'fire' your weapon.

It's a game, not real life.
  • makeamazing #6 3 years ago

Except for all the PS3 Cell talk. the game is looking great every time i see something new about it.
  • Widge #7 3 years ago

Yeah, you have to filter out the DEV speak... but it looks slick!
  • penhalion #8 3 years ago

    @makeamazing

Totally agree. The first half of this video was scripted straight out of Sony PR department. It took a lot of credibility from the game for them to do that.

I still intend to buy this (already have the preorder at game) as I loved crackdown and this seems to offer the same style of play (as does prototype).
  • Slabbathepave #9 3 years ago

    teh cellz powzer!!!
  • Cyclone #10 3 years ago

I'm not sure if the game has improved that much over early previews, or if the pr presentation has just gotten a lot more slick. Either way I'm starting to really look forward to this game. It'll be interesting to see how it compares to prototype.
  • Widge #11 3 years ago

Well, some Prototype gameplay for comparison here.

Prototype does look very flashy and fast paced, also different enough from inFamous to justify places in your collection. Of course got to wait to see how it measures up.

The actual detail of the city in inFamous is looking very good, pretty awesome. Prototype is a bit boxy and basic looking. However, for melee fun, seems like Proto is the place to go if you want to get stuck in and have a mash. Oh gunz for people who need that.

Be interesting to see the mission set on inFamous, hoping for something epic there.

looks good, but the dev talk bores me...
  • JediMasterMalik #13 3 years ago

The tech stuff at the beginning was cringe worthy, but the game looks excellent.
  • makeamazing #14 3 years ago

Dunno, Im not sure about prototype, this looks better... well suppose will have to get both :D
  • VandelayIndustries #15 3 years ago

This looks like a lot of fun, as does Prototype, but I like the styling more on this. Prototype's look makes it feel like it's intended for 14-16 year old 'I hate my parents' demographic.
  • JediMasterMalik #16 3 years ago

Err no, this does look better than Prototype, the city looks more fleshed out, the combat, while less varied looks a lot more focused and simply looks like it works better, the platforming in particular looks a hell of a lot better, and more fluid in this as well.

That's not to mention the graphics, which look much better in infamous than Prototype.

That's not to say prototype will be bad, it looks fun, but your sweeping statement goes a bit overboard.
  • Goodfella #17 3 years ago

What do you expect, Fapula is a raving 360 fanboy.

Prototype's look makes it feel like it's intended for 14-16 year old 'I hate my parents' demographic.

That'll be the 360 demographic then.
  • VandelayIndustries #18 3 years ago

I'll probably end up getting both. What I meant was that inFamous looks to have more 'character' about it, from world design to the key frame animation (which has grown on me), to the music. Whereas Prototype seems to have an angry hoodie throwing a bloody tantrum in New York.

Both look like they'll be fun, but for my taste inFamous looks better.

MY GAME THAT'S NOT OUT YET IS BETTER THAN YOUR GAME THAT'S NOT OUT YET

    I HAVEN'T PLAYED EITHER SO I KNOW
  • Widge #21 3 years ago

    Check Prototype's boxy city here:
    [link url=http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/prototype-missions
    ]http://www.eurogamer.net/videos/prototyp...[/link]

then direct lol @ Count Fapula.

Although it has to be said, Prototype does look HARDSTYLE.
  • the_dudefather #22 3 years ago

Game that's out for 2 consoles selling better than a game that's out for only one console?

no way! Lucky I only play Wii fit, it sells most so it's the best game
  • VandelayIndustries #23 3 years ago

You're probably right with sales of course since Prototype will be out three formats. As for critical reception? I don't know and I really don't care. From what I've seen of both inFamous pips it for me.

Also, I can't quite see where you're going with the whole original/generic debate because Prototype's back-story/motivation seems to rip off a great chunk of Marvel's history.

In the end it doesn't matter. Are they fun or not is my concern.
  • Gazza_UK #24 3 years ago

I think Fapula is sponsored by Prototype... O_o
  • Gazza_UK #25 3 years ago

What would you do if the Reviews AND Sales are better for InFamous? ... i am intrigued
  • JediMasterMalik #26 3 years ago

Oh I see, he's just an obtuse arse. Never mind then.
  • Goodfella #27 3 years ago

Lets face it, who cares if you think Prototype is better. Your infantile rantings are embarrassing. Read them back and think about what you've said.
  • JediMasterMalik #28 3 years ago

No one cares if you're correct or incorrect. That's not the problem here. The problem is you being a dick about your opinion.

To think, people like Fapula are allowed to roam free in society.
  • Goodfella #30 3 years ago

I think most people who read your comments would agree it's not my mother who needed an abortion.
  • the_dudefather #31 3 years ago

I'll get both, so it doesn't matter to me anyway :) hope you have fun with the game too CountFapula :D

  • makeamazing #32 3 years ago

countmuppet with his fanboy rants as usual. Man you must be a sorry state in real life. You know what, I dont give a rats ass what you think about two games that havent been released. You probably noticed that most people have already said they will get both games, how about you let US decide which one we think is better?
  • Goodfella #33 3 years ago

I'm getting both. Unfortunately for Fapula, he's one of those little children who can only afford a 360.
  • Goodfella #34 3 years ago

Thing is, you wouldn't know a good game if it fucked you up the arse. Goodnight.
  • makeamazing #35 3 years ago

Thing is he loves to post on every single PS3 game post... me thinks CountMuppet has PS3 Envy.... mummy cant afford to buy both consoles, guess social doesnt pay enough :D
  • psousa #36 3 years ago

After reading CountFapula comments I would like to publicly thank the author of the "ignore poster" button. Kudos to you sir.

  • Triggerhappytel #37 3 years ago

"I would reccomend prototype over infamous to ps3 owners (though you are still morons for buying a system who's two good exclusive games don't even have release dates yet), it's got a darker, more adult storyline (umless horror freaks you out in which case stop being pussies), a city that actually changes and pretty cool, unique powers, not just lightining and variations of lightning."

And to me Prototype just looks like it's desperately trying to be adult and violent in an attempt to attract the attentions of the juvenile audience who revel in games like Gears or God of War. At least the art style and general premise in inFamous is a little more interesting than Prototype. And yes this is my *opinion*, so please don't retort with your little pre-prepared checklist.

"Like I said, I'm calling it now, prototype will outsell this game and outshine it critically as well."

I've no doubt Prototype will sell more, but I reckon inFamous will get more critical acclaim, so I will take your bet. Whichever game has a lower score on Gamerankings, the advocate of it does not post here for a month. Obviously no way to enforce the terms, other than a gentlemenly agreement. Can you deal with that?
  • psousa #38 3 years ago

And to me Prototype just looks like it's desperately trying to be adult and violent in an attempt to attract the attentions of the juvenile audience who revel in games like Gears or God of War.

Couldn't agree more. I'm not exactly bothered by all the violence on the game, but it just seems a little out of place...
  • Goodfella #39 3 years ago

^^It worked too. Fapula is jizzing in his junior pants at the prospect of Prototype.
  • Widge #40 3 years ago

    LOL! No good games.
    Lets all have a go!
All the good 360 games you can play on PC and the rest are rubbish "BECAUSE I SAY SO".
Remember, because its my opinion, it is FACT.

Both consoles have good games that you can't get on the other. Carry on fighting the "war" though, in case it suddenly makes your machine "lose".
  • Goodfella #41 3 years ago

yes, half life 2, bioshock, portal, left for dead aren't good games?

    lol fucking moron.

What's with the moronic, abusive language anyway, can't think of any grown up words?

Anyway, I've played all of those games, the superior PC versions.
  • Godhather08 #42 3 years ago

This game looks frikkin' awesome. Can't wait to get my hands on it.
  • Xerx3s #43 3 years ago

I love how sony marketing is still hammering on about how awesome the cell is and how nothing else can do it. As if anyone believes that.
  • Xerx3s #44 3 years ago

I can't believe people actually think that prototype looks better. PT looks generic, this actually looks good.
  • El-Dev #45 3 years ago

"If you want to throw money away on a games console with no actual good games, be my guest. I'm not that stupid :p."

Using a smiley at the end of the statement does not support the claim that you're not stupid.

This game looks promising. If it fulfils its potential I'll be gettin it.
  • Goodfella #46 3 years ago

I can't believe people actually think that prototype looks better. PT looks generic, this actually looks good.

I can believe it, sadly. Just like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, the former sells a lot more copies and yet Rock Band is by far the better game. People like all that crappy, flashy bollocks as opposed to actual quality content.
  • E-ROLE #47 3 years ago

  • Gazza_UK #48 3 years ago

Haha this is still going..... LOL
  • El-Dev #49 3 years ago

XBots are a bitter lot. Suppose Velvet Assassin could have made them feel better...then it got a solid 4 out of 10.

As for me being a games developer....sadly not. Wouldn't even know where to start.
  • Widge #50 3 years ago

    Thats some top draw ranting!
  • Widge #51 3 years ago

  • El-Dev #52 3 years ago

What happens if inFamous scores better on EG than Prototype?
Not saying it will but there is a chance of that happening.
    Does the website "suck" then?

Who says "sucks" outside of crap american TV shows? Unless we're talking about fappy sucking male members...
  • El-Dev #53 3 years ago

Left4Dead is a good game I'm sure of that. Was considering gettin a 360 after my exams end at the start of next month for L4D but after completing 2 fps in the space of a couple of months I remembered why I rarely enjoy them, being that after a couple of gimmicks they are all the same and hard to differentiate apart from whether you are shooting alien, humans or zombies. That and I wouldn't pay to play online as it's not a big part of my gaming experience and there's very little in the 360 catalogue that appeals to be. Being that it's mainly FPS games and as I said they don't really appeal to me.

As for a Valve employee saying the PS3 is a piece of worthless shit, I'm sure you are paraphrasing, that's most likely his perogative after probably being handed a lot of money by MS to make the game just for them. So maybe I won't take his opinion as fact. Considering the guys in this video saying this game could only be done on the PS3 clearly there are contradicting opinions on the subject matter.

But what is fact is that you are extremely bitter about alot of PS3 games for no real reason, so cheer the fuck up and go outside and get some sun.

Good come back... your typing hands are quite quick. Probably all the wrist exercise you get from "special time" with your father.
    Edited by El-Dev at 10/05/09 @ 19:26
  • Goodfella #54 3 years ago

I think Fapula has surpassed even farticus for extreme 360 loyalty. It's really rather amusing and desperately sad at the same time.

All this ranting over a game he has absolutely nothing to do with.

As for comments like 'Left 4 Dead makes me feel better', I'm pretty sure any random PS3 owner who has the same low IQ as you could churn out ridiculously similar things to say such as 'MGS4 and/or Uncharted make me feel better' etc.
  • Gazza_UK #55 3 years ago

"Good come back... your typing hands are quite quick. Probably all the wrist exercise you get from "special time" with your father."

    Fap just got OWNED.
  • makeamazing #56 3 years ago

So Gabe says he doesnt like the PS3 and CountMuppet is like...wow I must be a drone and agree. Someone elses opinion doesnt matter, what matters is "my own" to ME.

Seriously I liked L4D but it wasnt all that, its just a multiplayer game (which is better on the PC btw)... but you know what thats my opinion. But its an opinion on a game that is RELEASED, so please countMuppet get a grip and realise neither game is out. Yes we can say one game looks better than another, but you are just making yourself look a dick arguing that Prototype is a better game, from what, some videos... well done for stupidity.

This PS3 envy is really starting to get silly. Perhaps you should get a paper round or something so you can save up to get one :)
  • VandelayIndustries #57 3 years ago

"when valve say your console is shit, you cant really argue."

'ere, I'll have a go. If Valve really are the shit, then surely they would relish the challenge and the chance to prove what they could do with the PS3. Instead they out source to EA. Chickens.

That chap from id (his name escapes me) has the right attitude though.

  • Triggerhappytel #58 3 years ago

CountFapula, do us all a favour and can it, you pathetic little child. Are you really so terrified that inFamous might be a good game that you have to use all these quotes to remind yourself and us that you think the PS3 is a piece of shit?! That's cool man, you keep telling yourself that - at least it saves you a couple of hundred pounds.

Also, if you don't think Uncharted is a triple-A game, you probably have the wrong hobby.
  • VandelayIndustries #59 3 years ago

So what about us PS3 owners that also have a 360?
  • xPringleZx #60 3 years ago

Countfagula 'yes, half life 2, bioshock, portal, left for dead aren't good games?
    Yes they are BUT....?
all those games are on PC & Ps3 except for L4D, don't try and think of anymore games like Gears,Halo or Fable cause there shit... i should know cause i own both consoles & Ps3 has WAY better exclusives (coming from an ex 360 FanBoy) except i don't like every Ps3 Exc like for Example Killzone 2, graphics don't mean everything (Gameplay is medicore to me) so NO I'm not a Sony fanboy, where would Xbox 360 be without it's 3rd party titles NO WHERE, the only reasons i like my 360 is for its 3rd party titles
  • Widge #61 3 years ago

Did ex-Microsoft employees Valve really say the PS3 was shit? THE FUCKERS!
  • DrDamn #62 3 years ago

Did I miss a post? TriggerHappyTel took you up on your bet CountFapula - are you going to accept or not?

For me from what I have seen I think Prototype has an edge in style, but I much prefer the movement around the city in inFamous. Prototype has gone for a fast point and run technique, inFamous looks much more exploration based. Want to see how the rest of inFamous pans out in reviews though.
  • KreyAtiv #63 3 years ago

I agree what others have mentioned, they could have done without the scripted dev speak and just got onto the what powers the character possesses.
  • Triggerhappytel #64 3 years ago

"infamous will be solid enough no doubt, it's the boring plot, art design, world and powers that ruin it. "

But of course; next to the exciting premise in Prototype of an amnesiac who has blades and/or hammers in his hands and who can jump really far, inFamous just sounds so uninspired and generic.

"apparently you just need to rip off tomb raider to be AAA these days."

Y'know, people who say this clearly haven't played Uncharted.

"Did I miss a post? TriggerHappyTel took you up on your bet CountFapula - are you going to accept or not?"

I doubt it - he's obviously not that confident about inFamous being shit, or he would have been all over this post.

"I know gore may put you off because you are a pansy, but hey its horror based. Not to mention your logic is retarded, since the game is 18 anyway. and ''lol'' at the idea that a horror -action game having gore is to make it for kids. That's an idiotic statement right there."

Don't be a twat. 18-rated games have always sold to minors ever since Mortal Kombat (and before?), and mature gamers are generally comfortable enough that they don't need loads of blood & headshots shoved in their face to remind themselves how macho they are. Excessive violence always has - and probably always will - catered for the meatheads and children who are excited by that sort of shit.
  • Widge #65 3 years ago

Just seen a 9.2 score go up on IGN.
  • Widge #66 3 years ago

and a 9.0 for the UK review.
inFamous confirmed as 'critically shit game to add to shit catalogue'
  • Shrike #67 3 years ago

Fanboy nonsense aside, I am really tired of PR people referring to the PS3 (or any console) as a place.

Though I guess in this case the Land of PS3 is down a well, or has a well, or something. So at least they're developing the metaphor.
