i beleive they use the term sandbox for the type of emergent gameplay/amount of simulation the games have....rather than GTA:Spartan edition.
It looks great.

My Mrs still gives me dirty looks when I mention Halo after Halo 3 and the online sessions which followed.

Consider me mildly excited for this game (which considering how little I've been interested in Halo for a while, is really quite a large achievement)

It's also not open world, as far as we know. it's a sandbox shooter in the sense that, like all previous Halo games (to varying degrees), it has sandbox combat.

It's a 'use equip' button, like Halo 3. But the equipment is integrated, not throwaway. When the spartan sprints, you see the symbol above the radar have a receding circle around it. It's a power - others might be cloak, power drain, bubble shield etc.

I am actually quite excited for this now, I'd not of had it on my "most wanted" list before, but now, yes, yes indeed.

Also, did I hear Peter Mensah doing a voice clip at approx 3.10?
If so . . . awesome. I love that guy.

Adding more NPCs and higher poly models won't mask the same one-dimensional game we've been playing for the last 10 years.
Pass.

If you don't "get" Halo after 9 years, then I suppose you'll never "get" it.
Your loss.

Care to elaborate on how it's one dimensional?
Anyway, looks great.

But this does seem to look alright.....hmmmm.....will keep a semi interested eye on this....might be the one that hooks me, as none of the others have kept me interested past 10 mins. There must be a reason you lot are so obsessive over Halo...it must be in there somewhere...just never found it.

Halo 3 was really the 2nd half of Halo 2 that they didn't manage to finish and it showed in terms of design and mission style. This looks like a genuinely new Halo and I'm very excited.

Still, these Bungie-guys always seem really genuine and it's hard to argue with the number of players they get.
