Halo 3 - Monument

Published 17 September, 2007 Duration 4:09

A curious mini-mockumentary about a monument to John 117, otherwise known as Master Chief, supposedly created to commemorate one of the many battles between humanity and the Covenant. Good job they still use polystyrene in the distant future.

hmm, not sure about this. The model is superb and considerable effort has obviously been pushed into this marketing vid. Seems a bit American in concept though.....

I can't imagine this came from xbox uk marketing! Would you recommend this to a friend?....... thought not.

Well that was shit, the 90 second long one without the voice over is much better.

    The hand of a Hero!!

For those wondering whether this is worth viewing or not, it's a 'making of' feature, based on the creation of a model used in another Halo3 promo. The twist is that the feature itself has been baked in the Halo3 Hype oven at Hype Mark 7 for 24 hours, making it more palatable to those who enjoy Halo hype. If you don't enjoy Halo hype, it's one to avoid.

The hand pulled us back from the brink, insulted our mothers and teabagged our worthless corpse.

Welcome to Halo 3, the sequel to mediocrity.

The model reminds me of them 'hell' pieces that those brothers did a few years ago. Cant remember their names but it f*cking ruled. Big glass cabinets about 6ft square with loads on tiny models being tortured and stuff. one of them had a huge pit and zombies were filling it with dead nazis.

edit: chapman brothers, thats it. hell

What a rubbish monument that would make. Not likely to "stand for eternity" is it? It would get squashed by some clumsy janitor after a few years.

They should've made it a real documentary about how they made the set for the promo. No need for all that fluff about using UNC personnel records and battle accounts. Or... if they wanted to get us really excited, they should have given a short narration of the battle as though giving a historical account, then faded from a shot of the replica set to an in game render of the battle occurring on the 360. Master Chief runs by the camera and tells us to believe. That's how you make a comercial folks. MS, just hire me for your marketing next time.

If all those soldiers were equipped with the Master Chief's gear, I am sure the Covenant wouldn't have a chance.

"If all those soldiers were equipped with the Master Chief's gear, I am sure the Covenant wouldn't have a chance. "

True.. sadly it takes 20 years to train a Spartan and the gear costs shitloads.
