    I'm liking the new version more about misdirection then debuffing

    I'll miss my NecroMesmer. I used to have a skill bar that did nothing unless my opponent pressed a key - then they'd explode.

    I'm too old to get the timing right for interrupts, though, so perhaps it's for the best :)

    After bathing a while in the Skyrim atmosphere, watching this gives me a feeling of overloaded, cheap manga game, with clumsy design. And I'm starting to hate this childish look of their characters too. I waited for GW2, but this is just taking way too long.

    It's starting to smell like overdone production. And the more you climb the harder the fall... I'm wondering why are they so anal retentive about this game?...

    Wait wait Guild Wars 2 looks like manga?

    I think you sir are anal retentive. Since there's nothing at all wrong with over production in video games. In fact, obsessive production is required to make things look good.

    Looks a lot more girly than I expected.

    I used to have a NecroMesmer. Spiteful Spirit with Arcane Echo could take down a massive hoard until massive nerfing took place. Not been on GW for ages. I'll have 3-4 unused presents. It's a shame I don't have the time to put in any more. :(

    @dfinit
    After playing with Skyrim, I had the feeling that it was a very highly overrated game with quantity rather than quality content, catering to shallow people.

    @dfinit As big as a game like Skyrim may be, there's still a lot more to design and develop for an MMO, and unlike most developers, they seem to be trying really hard to make a really good game, not just copying WoW and dumping it out while it's still half-finished.

    I'm not sure how you could think this is a bad approach to developing games..

    It's also not been in development for THAT long, for MMO standards. Old Republic had been in development for far longer and even Skyrim we know has been in some stage of development since Oblivion was released in 2006.

    GW2 was definitely announced too early, but if it hadn't been, GW1 players would have felt like the game was just abandoned.

    hehe well, my comment was mainly pointing:
    1/a subjective feedback about the visuals of the two worlds. There is definitely a contrast, without even qualifying one or the other. I just can’t get enthusiastic about colourful whatever. And there is plenty in GW2. Being “fantasy” is such a poor excuse to pour incoherent content into that world. Look what happened to WoW.

    2/a subjective consideration about the degrading of the « new ». GW2 was “new” quite a while ago. Meanwhile, in my personal scale of evaluation, that “new” expired and they didn’t succeed in keeping me alive, with them.

    @Zaiz Yes, I am anal retentive to a certain point. But still learning about the best amount of being like that and the best moment when to “let it go”. If you fail to determine that moment, your business may fail. It’s a matter of optimization. Going “obsessive” is rarely a good option. Maybe if you do pure art, but that is another debate.

    Amusing to see at what point people are ready to get "personal" about something.

    Anyways I really, really hope GW2 will be a good game.

    Cheers 2 all!

    @dfinit Colour = Manga influence

    Incoherent? The art design in GW2 is easily some of the best I've ever seen in a videogame, I'm not even sure what you're seeing that is cartoony or unrealistic. There are some differences between some of the different regions, but they all fit in with a specific culture and style.

    There's even a snowy nordic type area up in the mountains, very similar to what you see in Skyrim. Remember, GW2 takes place in an entire world, not just one region. You could just as easily say the Elder Scrolls is "incoherent" looking at the differences between Vvardenfell and Skyrim.

    As for losing interest? Yeah, it's been a long time since the game was announced, but only the really hardcore fans have been following it. They haven't even started to really hype the game, let alone actually advertise it. A few people crying about how it's "taking tooo lonng!" really doesn't matter.
