Gah, im just not getting excited by this at all....

Whats with the fucking awful framerate in some of those scenes too?
  • Teastain #3 4 years ago

  • Royal Fool #4 4 years ago

I have to admit I liked the others better.

But I'm still very much looking forward to this game!
  • George-Roper #5 4 years ago

    Grand Theft Framerate?
  • ZuluHero #6 4 years ago

wowee - but one thing i've always wondered - if its set in LC does that mean that most of us will already know our way around?

    Guess I'll find out in about a month - can't wait :)

Looks great, but what the hell is that music?
  • thomasbeff #8 4 years ago

  • mrhand #9 4 years ago

Horrible music. Err, are they going to show any gameplay or just bore us to death with cut scene montages?

It would sell millions even if it looked like total arse, so what's the point in trying to make it look super pretty?
  • Altrezia #10 4 years ago

    I love it. Can't wait.
  • L0cky #11 4 years ago

I wonder if that guy falling down the stairs was preanimated or it's their new character physics.

Looks a lot better than any ragdoll stuff in the past.
  • Cyclone #12 4 years ago

    @kelly's_h

If you want to see some of the GTA humour look at the short videos, like the LCPD one. New trailer looks pretty good. Looking forward to the 29th.
  • Kyle #13 4 years ago

Um, I don't think a small video you stream off the internets is indicative of the final products framerate, FFS. :p
  • GitSomE_UK #14 4 years ago

Lovely, Super, Smashing but when do we see someone controlling the character and actually playing the game rather than cut scenes, yes I know the scenes use the in game engine but I still want to see what it looks like from a players perspective.
  • M83J01P97 #15 4 years ago

The Liberty City in GTA IV is NOT the same Liberty City from GTA 3, this new Liberty City is based more on New York than the original.

It's like the Liberty City from GTA 1 is not the Liberty City seen in GAT 3.
  • Razz #16 4 years ago

Cool! Love the Shakabuku music! :D
  • chiz #17 4 years ago

    Jack Thompson approves.
  • stoopidgreg #18 4 years ago

it's out of sync for me... gametrailers ho!
  • MyPointIs #19 4 years ago

    I'm buying two copies.
  • jaluuk #20 4 years ago

It was interesting that some of the scenes that were less-obviously cutscenes did seem to have framerate issues, like when the guy drives through the red bollards.

Doesn't mean I won't be at Gamestation at midnight for the launch though.

Poor Sean Paul sounds drunk and hung over in that song

If they cant lock this down at 30fps, then i will be gutted. anything less gives me a whacking headache!
  • tjlazr #24 4 years ago

I can't understand all the hate for the graphics, I think this looks fantastic. The animation, the setting and the characters looks bloody good fun to me. I'll be playing this one to death - can't wait!
  • penhalion #25 4 years ago

A lot of us are picking up on the fact that all they seem to show are cut scenes. I want to see how the game runs when you are wandering about the city with all the incidental people and traffic moving about you.

I know everyone is going to rush out and buy this but, something about the lack of actual gameplay has me worried that it's going to be a case of slowdown city and that reviewers are going to dismiss this simply because A) it's a GTA game and B) They have a set of blinkers on. Take the graphics for instance. They are pretty poor for a next gen game yet people are already making excuses about not needing good graphics. Strange given that most games get shouted down for not having next gen graphics. Just look at the super smash brothers thread.
  • hannibaldave #26 4 years ago

Poor video really. Again, like everyone else, was kinda hoping for some actual gameplay footage. To be fair though, I like to treat these games as almost movie experiences, which I'm pretty sure how Rockstar intended it so these style of trailers are probably geared towards that. I guess a radar in the top right would district from the narrative they're trying to entice you with. After all, we've all played a GTA game so we know what its like - yeah this will have bells and whistles but it'll basically be a progression of the same. Which works.
  • konnsky #27 4 years ago

    NICE. VERY NICE.
  • guernican #28 4 years ago

I just did a sex wee.
  • Olemak #29 4 years ago

"Nobody move! Get on the floor!"

    Everybody walk the dinosaur?

Anyway: Cut-scene heaven, for sure, but what will the actual gameplay be like?
  • Beano #30 4 years ago

    "Grand Theft Framerate?"

I agree... I'm worried that the finished game will look horrible and run choppy when the trailers looks so sloppy and unimpressive. And I'm sure the PS3 will be blamed for it.
  • Weebleboy #31 4 years ago

If this wasn't called GTA we'd all be ripping the piss out of it for looking like an XBox game.

Not that that's going to stop me buying it of course...
  • SmartMonkey #32 4 years ago

Looks Good. We won't see gameplay footage until a week before release. (Rockstar tactics)
  • TheDudesRug #33 4 years ago

No issues with the framerate in the videos I have watched. But then they're in a proper media format from source, not a flash video on a vg website. Its like complaining YouTube has poor quality video...
  • L0cky #34 4 years ago

You can't determine anything about the framerate of a game from a video.

A 2fps game can be videod at 60fps and vice versa. The codec has more to do with it than the game.

As TheDudesRug said, it would be the same as complaining that a games resolution is low based on a youtube vid.
  • bongoloid #35 4 years ago

looks bloody fantastic, a huge step forward from SA, and that was superb... ! It's dripping with style, and i am dripping with drool...
  • ejstyles #36 4 years ago

Hate to say, looks pretty much the same off XBox Live, so... But there are loads of bits that obviously aren't cutscenes, just like every other GTA trailer ever! That J-turn in the Pagani/Lambo, the shootout in the subway, the showcase of the physics with the dude down the stairs, even the final shot is showing off that weather-specific physical reaction thing that's been mentioned in various previews... Sure, you haven't seen from the actual gameplay view, but that is vintage Rockstar. IT. WILL. BE. AWESOME! Maybe.
  • Ares #37 4 years ago

How can anybody criticise the visuals? It's going to be the most expansive sandbox game ever made FFS! Not every footpath and rooftop is going to get the level of attention a hallway would have received in Gears of War. And GTA has always succeeded in a stylish austerity, interspersed with the occassional graphical triumph (pause at around 0:22 for example) .

When you're carefully crawling through traffic on a rainy night through the steamy city, you'll probably be too awestruck to notice that angular looking street lamp anyway.
  • ardamillo #38 4 years ago

Looks like they've nailed the cutscenes. That's a relief.
  • konnsky #39 4 years ago

last couple comments pretty much sum up how i feel like about the new gta. +1 to you folks.
  • ExplodingClown #40 4 years ago

Meh, same old same old. The cash cow'll still do insane business of course. Got to say the radio station previews I've heard thus far were nowhere near as entertaining as 'Vice City'.

Frankly as 'Driver Parallel Lines' fucked the perfect chance to do GTA 1970, I'd have liked to have seen it done properly. I'm more stoked for 'Mafia 2', myself....
  • bad09 #41 4 years ago

I'm just astounded people can look at the trailers and think the graphic are poor, I think they look fantastic!

All you doubters pull out your GTA 3, VC or SA and you see how far the graphics have come!
  • suicida #42 4 years ago

Looks awesome to me. Wish this was out next week, hurry up the 29th!
  • Bangaioh #43 4 years ago

    Music is shit.
The gfx are good though, not mindblowing but good.

@bad09: It's not the graphics that are putting me off, it's the deja vu. Vice City was such a joy because of many factors such as the nods to Scarface, Carlito's Way, Miami Vice (TV series not that dull movie), the voice acting etc. It's still fun to tool around on a moped with Flash FM playing!

But San Andreas just felt so much less fun - possibly due to the presence of 'DJ Pooh' in the writing team, as it seemed to switch schizophrenically between tongue-in-cheek 'CJ is patently a moron and the whole gangsta thing is for imbeciles' and the kind of 'Yo, who da man? Grove 4 life homie!' pandering that chavs adore. And don't even get me started on those goddamn missions with that radio controlled plane.
  • Artemis_Matsas #45 4 years ago

The trailers i've seen so far haven't impressed me that much.
I hope that the final product and reviews will make me buy this.
  • bad09 #46 4 years ago

    @ExplodinClown

I can understand that as VC is the best game, but as you say that really is down to the music, satire etc. See I thought SA was a great improvement over VC in terms of the actual gameplay. Sure the whole 'gangsta' thing may have been a dissappointment to some (including me just a little bit!) but is was satire on the whole ghetto crap. Also the 90's can't touch the 80's for music! For me (like all the GTAs) the sheer scope of the game as a whole made me forget it's misgivings easily. Plus it could have been worse (play Saints Row for a truly embarrasing "ghetto" feel)

Maybe I'm bias as a fan but I find it hard to believe that what we've seen hasn't impressed some people.

P.S. Ah those SA model store missions, what a pain in the arse they were! :)
  • Melan #47 4 years ago

Looks good and gta4 is proplely the games that makes me by a next gen console. (i own a wii but thats not really next gen)
  • bad09 #48 4 years ago

What's a matter Headbog mate, sore it's not Sony exclusive anymore? =)

There is no question whether it will be good or not it's GTA man, Rockstar have never let us down before!
  • Melan #49 4 years ago

This game have a "eastern promises" feel about it, which is in my book a good thing.

Me to, I did not think that CJ was a lovable chap, maybe this guy has more personalty
  • slave23d #50 4 years ago

evey single time!! to all the doubters who say is just cutscenes; there IS gameplay scenes in there, the car chase scenes, the being blown up, the car smashing into the lamp post, the hitting the newspaper stands, the 180 in the car, you can create them all in game, all they did is switch off the HUD.
  • DAN.E.B #51 4 years ago

i think CRACKDOWN set a new standard for sandbox games.
sure the missions where repetetive but the the whole exploring side of things has not been matched in this type of game yet.
i hope this is as good as everybody thinks its gonna be.
i,ll buy buy it on launch day and hope for the best.
and i will probably buy the exclusive content too!
  • Buztafen #52 4 years ago

Can i just say, how can people think the graphics on this trailer are anything but impressive. If an entire city has been given the same amount of time and care it will be a great achievement IMO. It looks unmistakeably rockstar....and brilliantly engrossing which is what i look for in a GTA game. Cant wait!
  • hollowroom #53 4 years ago

wake me up when the PC version is released.
