Realism is a massive part of Gran Turismo's appeal, unless you can't drive of course, in which it's there to be cursed as you end up facing the wrong way on an easy corner. This clip shows the official Nissan test driver putting that realism to the test.

The proper spiritual successor to the fire-breathing, tarmac-chewing Skyline GT-R family is, however, on it's way. It'll be badged simply as the "Nissan GT-R", and it'd be a shame if it doesn't make it into the next GT game, even in concept form (it'll be launched later this year, so you'd think Nissan would like the publicity).
Spy photos and stuff, including one blowing the doors off an M5 on the 'Ring:

(Incidentally, the Fairlady is the Japanese name for the Z series -- 300 ZX, the current 350 Z etc.)

Forza 2 doesn't have nuch over this demo; I have never seen such as involving drive as all the crowd actually walk, react, take photographs and cheer - it might be scripted but it makes the experience better.
GT5 is going to be an eye candy feast and a half - car porn in other words.
