I'm impressed. Not a leap worthy of the Gran Turismos on the Playstation and then on the Playstation 2, but still awesome all the same.

Cars look good. Trees look awful.

I wonder if Polyphony Digital are getting bored of making GT yet?

    Looks very nice.

So tantalisingly close to photo-realistic. But not quite.

    Driving phsyics look great.

Lets hope this is as developed and progressive in the non-graphics departments

    NEEEED.

I think i counted 14+ cars on track at once...hope so!

Christ on a bike, that does look awesome, and I don't even like the GT games.

If you wanna sell some PS3s Sony, drop the price and get this baby out.

Also - it looks like they might have finally broke tradition and put a full field of racers in the track. There must have been a dozen cars on at a couple of points in that video.

    16 has been counted. :)

And did those cars react to each other could it be... AI!?!

Nah it couldn't be can it?

We always knew it would look absolutly stunning. The question is: will the Ai still be a dumb as a post and locked to a rails, making the races boring as hell?

    Wow, Gran Turismo 4.5!

Where's the crash damage, and the decent AI?

    Oh yeah, in Forza 2!

    Ba-sum-teesh!

I think there were going to be 8-16 cars, depending on the track, but it's not yet fully set.

The trees you've seen are placeholders I think as they are testing to get 16 cars in there. If you've seen the Le Mans video with the Audi that was on the net around the Le Mans event, there were some really beautiful trees along the track there.

I don't think it is necessarily AI that you see driving there, as GT5 Prologue is going to be all about online racing I'm sure.

    Gorgeous.

But you guys that are counting the cars in the race, you don't know if the video only features one race, or several, so calm down.

    real time damage pliiiiizzzzzzz
  • Ryze #15 5 years ago

It needs online play and AI.

That's what everyone was waiting for with GTA4 - they let us down.

I won't even have te console, so they missed the bus.

It'll be a massive game on release, no doubt.

It looks good, but we always knew it would. The big question is how it plays and whether it has evolved enough to take back the crown from Forza 2. If anyone can GT can... Fingers crossed as it would be a console seller for me.

Doubt it Manufacturers are tight arse about getting their beautiful cars damaged, and even Turn 10 had problems getting manufacturers permission so they couldn't make a definitive damage model.

That said, there's an article around somewhere's saying that normal cars won't have damage and Race Cars will.

Even talk of patching Damage on cars at a later date even.

I don't think it is necessarily AI that you see driving there, as GT5 Prologue is going to be all about online racing I'm sure.

The cars are being conscious and being magnetically shoved to the edge of the road, that's more Ai than previous Gran Turismo's combined.

    GT never lost the crown

I cant wait for this one of the reasons i bought my ps3.

If they put damage in it it better be real time and not like forzas pre determinant damage .

This game looks Pluckin amazing i watch this trailer on my PS3 atleast once a day religiously.
  • Talha #21 5 years ago

This looks, frankly, better than any other racing game out there.

That said, it is high time the actual game PLAYED like this footage: i.e. good sense of speed, some semblance of AI.
  • brokenkey #22 5 years ago

why's that bloke driving with his handbrake on? (at 1.18)

Dont see anything that great in here! Was a MASSIVE fan of GT, every since day 1... but it became so plain, so formulaic and I only ever played GT versus my brother or a mate. The AI sucked, no damage = killer for me.

Then Friday just gone I bought an 360 and Forza2 after playing the demo for 10mins round a mates. This is what I hoped GT would be last time (okay, minus the online play perhaps).

Forza2 absolutely leads from GT now and I cannot imagine Polyphony wont up their game and take them on... then again, they've let me down with their recent half-hearted demo releases...

Struggling to see any difference between this and Forza 2.
  • deaddwarf #25 5 years ago

ehum - forza isnt even close in the gfx department when compared.

    I trust my eyes.
