looking forward to the game

Side note: I wonder how long before real-time graphics looks like that. Then again, that'd probably be a bad thing since game development would takes 5-6 years longer...

Also, if I am not mistaken, CD Project already thought about making the PS3 version but they prefer to work on one console at a time so to get the better out of it.

one that offers along with Witcher 1 a true nonlinear story.

Because CD Project is not a huge developer with a lot of resources, I am doubting that this game will come to the PS3 unless it will be 2 years in the future. Think how long it took them to do the 360 port and if they do not have experience developers for the PS3 it probably would take even longer for a PS3 port.
We all know what happens when developers try to take 360 or PC code and convert it over to the PS3. It would not perform well, they would need to cut a lot of things in order to get it to work at a decent level.

Edit: As for a PS3 version, they were looking for another developer with PS3 experience to do it, since it's rather different, and awkward to develop for if you've not done so before. I don't think anyone has stepped up.

The cutscene is related to the main game. No major spoilers from me but if you look at the sub-title of the game you should be able to figure out what's is going on.
The Witcher 2 was my second favorite game of 2011 behind Deus Ex:HR. SO I'm not suprised it piqued your interest.
I actually prefer the Witcher games to the Elder Scrolls games. I don't own an Xbox360 but am really glad the games's coming out for it (and hopefully PS3 at some point) as it should give more gamers a chance to discover what I think is a great game series.

The combat has been tweaked on the PC version. The opening tutorial chapter is not quite as hard, but there are still some problems with balance.
The Quen sign (a magicial ability) is still essential to survivial while there are other abilties that have little to no use.
As my above post states though it is a great game as is the first.

Incoming!
One more thing, does it depend heavily on the first game story? I mean, can you pick it up and play it without playing the first one?

I allow myself a critique though: the assassin character doesn't seem as well studied and "refined" as all the others are. It's somehow out of the visual context and coherence. Somehow blunt. More like a space marine... The looks don’t match the incredible agile, super swimmer and ultimate killer he shows he is.
Maybe they've mismatched the character model and the motion capture data?...

There are some story threads that continue in the 2nd game that started in the 1st (mainly related to Geralt and him losing his memory) but the second game has a new self-contained story. The game does a good job of explaining any relevant events from the first game as well, so you should be fine playing the 2nd game first.

I've not played this game and know nothing about the story but if I am to speculate, I suspect that the assassin is possibly being mind-controlled by someone else, possibly a powerful mage. I base this assumption purely on the surgical scar on his head.
