I love the fact that they made the graphics look dated and low res.
Really adds to the retro atmosphere.
    Looking forward to playing this!

8 characters lol? looks no more impressive than the N64 version to be honest.

Im sorry but Rare seem to be stuck in the 90's. I played the N64 version to death when i flat shared with my mates, our most played game. But this looks all wrong. Either go cell shaded or go hi res. This low res footage just looks so inferior.

Make it multi-format. It would sell like hot cakes

Yeah, it's definitely Rare's fault that a game developed by someone completely different on the Wii does not look like a shiny 360 HD title...

there is no way this can live up to the hype people nor expectations of people that think the original was a great game.
  • FenderMaster #8 1 year ago

    so cynical...

all those bond movies, and yet another developer making a "GoldenEye" game to cash in on the N64 titles name and legacy...

don't be fooled, the facility map is not the N64 one you remember, Eurocom can't remake another developers level, it'll be a completely different level, and game.

can't be worse than EA's GoldenEye Rogue Agent at least...

They're trading solely on the reputation of Rare's game and I don't see any way that it can ever live up to it.

"Bringing multiplayer... back to its roots" my ass.
  • Der_tolle_Emil #10 1 year ago

I also doubt it will live up to everyone's extremely high expecations. However, I do believe that Eurocom might still deliver a really good game; They can get it right. I fondly remember Duke Nukem: Zero Hour on the N64 and Dead Space: Extraction on the Wii isn't bad either. So who knows, maybe this will be one of their games where they really show what they can do.

Wait a minute, this is from the same dev as Dead Space Extraction? I'm sold.

    Please do.

Is it wrong I want this so bad even though I know it is nothing to do with the original?
  • CUTZ-SIX #14 1 year ago

"Melee mode"???? Thats "SLAPPERS ONLY" for fuck's sake!

@fendermaster 'don't be fooled, the facility map is not the N64 one you remember, Eurocom can't remake another developers level, it'll be a completely different level, and game.'

I wouldn't be so sure. I remember the journalists and game mags being briefed that the devs had official access to to the film set blueprints. Maybe Eurocom could say the the same? whilst copying the N64 levels?
  • Zaiz #16 1 year ago

I think my roommate will want me to get this, since he loved Goldeneye. Well, so do I, but he still plays it.
  • grussbarbar #17 1 year ago

    @FenderMaster

Maybe so. But considering how much more advanced Wiimote controls are for FPS than N64 controls, I would imagine it would not be good if the levels were recreated exactly the same. I bet they're trying to remake the levels to capture the spirit and general layout of the originals, while still updating the challenges and design to fit the Wiimote.

In any case, let's give Eurocom the benefit of the doubt until the game is released. =)
