Despite living in a land of giants, barbarian hordes, fire breathing lizards and huge, flesh hungry apes, the heroine of Beast Rider still thinks that what basically amounts to a hide bikini is the best outfit for battle. Sassy, but ultimately a bit short-sighted.

From this trailer, it seems like an exceptionally poor use of the Golden Axe license, there's nothing I recognise from the original games at all. Well, apart from Tyris, but nobody ever used her in the original game because she was rubbish compared to the barbarian and the dwarf (although at 0:40 it's pretty obvious why the developers picked her).

Seriously, it might as well be called Heavenly Sword: Beast Battle.

@ Gnort - I used to use Tyris quite a lot because she had the best magic.

Anyway, this looks pretty shite. Does it remind anyone else of Crash of the Titans a bit, but, y'know, all angsty?

What? She only had the best magic if you spent half the game storing it up, it was actually worse than the other characters' at lower levels. So for one, maybe two usages of uber-magic, you played the entire game with the character with the least effective weapon?

I think you used her quite a lot because she had the biggest tits
Which is clearly a factor the developer of this remake is counting on.

Well, I only ever really used magic on the big bosses or when I was in danger of dying, so I usually had time to build her magic levels right up. But she did have lovely norks, which was quite possibly a subliminal contributing factor.

Also, I've played the Golden Axe trilogy on the Mega Drive Collection a while back and they're all pretty hard now. Either that or I'm just completely shite these days.

Speaking of the Golden Axe trilogy, did you notice that Tyris's GA2 sprite is pretty much identical to her GA1 sprite, except with bigger boobs?
