    Gear. Anya is a female Gear, not a COG. Unless she's a one-woman government :p

    Edit - it's worth pointing out you can now hold A to jog during the fingers-in-the-ear moments. So no complaining! Also, I like that you can now pull the left trigger at any time to zoom, which makes it easier to take in every little detail.

    I like these talkthrough things... it brings a sense of reality to gaming and reminds us that the guys at EG are just like us, can enjoy a game and laugh at the silly aspects of games too.

    keep them coming I say :)

    Played an hour, but compared to, dare I say it, Resistance 3, this is kinda dull.
    Never thought I would say that but yes, the shoot-outs in the first part of R3 are were more exciting for me.
    I miss the recoil in the controller, when firing the guns in R3 you know they're devastating, when firing the Lancer it feels
    like it's got no power whatsoever.Game looks awesome though

    I finished Gears 3 last night and i can assure you the campaign picks up quite a bit after the first act. I'm now about to play Resistance 3 and from what little I've played so far it feels very exciting. It will be interesting which one was the most fun.

    About 16 seconds in, there's a choice between playing the campaign as 'STANDARD' or 'ARCADE'.

    What is arcade? I can't find a straight answer anywhere, and I don't want to buy this without knowing. High replay value in single-player means a lot to me, so this could be of interest.

    Edit: Why the neg? Is the content of Arcade mode a massive spoiler? If the option doesn't work, could someone please say something?

    It looks really awesome, but is the game really as easy as it looks?
    I mean here it looks a bit like he's leisurely walking though a hell hole killing blind moronic monsters with a chainsaw gun without breaking a sweat. This must surely be on easy difficulty?

    I'm a bit disappointed in the Mk1 Lancer. Bayonet charge is good, but the main fire itself is very poor. Too inaccurate, I wouldn't be surprised to see that change in an update.

    @dirtysteve Pulse firing keeps the targeting reticule tight-ish, its not a long range weapon though by any means!

    Was playing the campaign co-op with two mates on hardcore last night, was very entertaining seeing one of them retro lancer charge into certain death - don't get those moments of joy with the AI.

    Did get a great bug though, I had played a bit of the game before where you're in the lifts ater the stadium and got killed by the lambent boomer? so I start the campaign co-op with me pals and where you have to put the groceries delivery on the pick up spot we all died with the same death message you need to kill the (thing) quicker before he destroys the lift.

    The Lancer is meant to feel light and underpowered, it's called balancing.

    The Mk.1 Lancer is basically an UK with bayonet, fire single shot for accuracy, or close range hosing for instant death.

    Arcade mode turns on scoring, and boosts your XP when replaying the campaign.
