Just when you think you know what a series is about it can go and surprise you. This latest trailer for the Gears sequel is a bit of a turn around for the gritty shooter, and a welcome sign that its story telling element is maturing. Before you ask, we think the music is by Devotchka.

Not bad.. not as good as previous Gears 1 trailer but this certainly will be the game to beat this XMas if this is the TV trailer.

plenty of homo erotic stbolism going on in that vid, those phalic drills slamming into the ground, the way they looked ever so passionatly into each others eyes in that clos confined space etc, you can deconstruct this a plethora of ways if you want.

Sorry but if they are trying to re-create the impact the first one had, then IMO this has failed. The first one was good because it had the tears for fears track and everyone and anyone knew that track instantly even though it was a cover. But what really got me was the 'ONLY 199" where the hell did that come from?!
