It might only have been 14 months since the release of Epic's seminal tough-fest, but a lot can happen in the mind of Cliff Blezinski during that time. This is the presentation which was given by Epic during Microsoft's keynote speech at GDC this year, highlighting the technical strides which the engine has taken.

That looks pretty sexy, I dare say that Gears 2 (and others) will be far better games thanks to the developments made in the engine. (Loving the viscous blob thing)

They have stated before (somewhere, lost the links sorry), that this is JUST a UnrealEngine3 tech demo using Gears assests. NOT a Gears tech demo. So don't expect this all to appear in Gears (it probably will though)

I always feel sorry for Sweeney when they push him up on stage. He always looks like he would rather sit in his coding dungeon, making things look more realistic as you blow them up.

@Genome - yeah, poor guy, he was obviously struggling there. They should just get someone else to read it who's a better public speaker.

Also, FireMonkey speaks the truth. This is an Unreal Engine 3 tech demo, not a Gears 2 tech demo. Although much - if not all - of this will probably feature in the game to some degree.

They could easily release the tech demo and a mini-game add-on like Valve seem to do with their Half-life content. The Meat would be a companion cube
