I'm trying so hard to be enthusiastic about unreal tourney 2007 but, I stopped enjoying the unreal gameplay a long time ago.

There just isn't any skill in it. You either snipe from miles away or jump around like a crazed jack rabbit and try to shoot anything that moves.

If Epic ever read these boards. I would ask them this

Have you not realised that games like battlefield are popular because they have fair gameplay, not like your random luck, first to the rocket launcher/sniper rifle is king.

I think I'll simply say nice graphics but, not getting my money for any same ol' same ol' piece of re-hashed crud.

lol, speaking of contradiction. First to the jets/choppers ftw, yeah!

@vid: looking good, although too much shadows, I want a more clear view.

Well, anybody who plays these games seriously will turn down all the graphical stuff right away, to get the sharpest res at the fastest rock solled framerate, aside from reducing the clutter.

Slower paced, adventure types of games are better served with high end graphics. Games where exploring and actually looking in detail in the enviroment is important rather then this type of game.

Looks like UT2007 has evolved so far from the original idea of UT that it barely justifies the name any more.

    Shame.

I'll probably still buy it though, even though I much prefer a good old deathmatch to any of this new-fangled vehicular nonsense. Bombing run in 2k4 was great though. More of that please!

Looks great from where I'm sitting, I can't wait to see what other parties licensing the engine can come up with, either.

Everything looked good apart from the Hover Board rubbish.

This is UT and NOT Back to the Future 2....
  • T4RG4 #10 6 years ago

Same old, I wont bother with it. Hover Boards... erm, what were you thinking!?
  • PAUL_CERULA #11 6 years ago

The gameplay is just so unskilled and random. Hey let's float around the rooms floor at mach 2 shooting....and shooting....and shooting.

Woh I just shot someone, lets do it again. Come on epic drop the UT and concentrate on GOW. Not to mention those CGI trailers of UT07 you showed everybody and gameplay looks nothing like it.

@PAUL_CERULA, @penhalion: have you ever played UT2Kx against GOOD players? I was in a clan, and the best players in that clan were able to consistently win ALL matches with a big difference in total kills from the second place. We all had the same lag and connection (an ADSL, btw) but one on one the best were able to 20-0 the less skilled on almost any map. Come on, even I was able to place first or second consistently in most open games against non-clanners (and some clanner here and there)! Double tapping movement is a skill that you must make yours to win, and being able to railgun anybody while double tapping will get you blisters during the frustrating hours while you get your skills honed...
Calling UT a random game is, and I don't want to sound elitist, just for newbies. When you start studying the game, you'll see there are a lot of things to learn, and that winning is much more a matter of skill (and, expecially in the higher leagues, partially connection lag), than in games so higly preaised for their multiplayer like Battlefield (fun, for sure, but with a so badly programmed net code that killing somebody with a faster connection than you is utopia, not to mention the fact that mastering the air game can rack you tons of kills while ruining the game of the troops running in the fields...) and Halo 2. If I had an ADSL, UT would be my multiplayer game of choice, with a 56K Counterstrike and all the other Source games are so much better.
