This looks like an in-game cutscene to us, as our moustachioed hero watches a squad of ne'erdowells taken apart by various sinister types. Doubtless they all have ridiculous Goth/mammal names...

But Kojima gets some cool dude to spout this nonsense in a weird Japanese interpretation of shitty american B-Movie actors, and everyone lauds him for his storytelling genius.
Nice cinematics, though.

It's like a cross-over between the psychotic bosses from MGS3 and comic-book style bosses from MGS2.

Oh yes, I've got it, he didn't crouch down and stick his finger in his ear at the end of it.

Seriously though, that was really cool, kinda scary. The pallet still bothers me though, needs more colour and i know its in the middle east and there isnt much colour blah blah blah but i dont care.

I am sad, but my interest in MGS4 took a big hit after this. Apart from *horrible* framerate (hope the fault is in the player), the enemies are just weird and nothing more: no charisma, no "empathy", no fluid animation (the flying ones are incredibly rigid in their movents), nothing. Direction, rhythm and camera motions are bland and uninteresting. Sad.

...Not that I'd argue previous enemies haven't been somewhat ridiculous, but compared to these they seem relatively 'normal'.

But, well, nice cutscenes are one thing, what the hell is the actual game like?

"That wolf one was like an evil robotic Ameratsau (that's Okami, you fucking heathens)."
You mean Amaterasu?

*Congratulates Dave for knowing about the wonderful Okami*

A bit shit actually, if the one video I've seen so far is anything to go by.

I suppose if it was on the 360 with 'achievements' it would be completely different story then ?

There's also a lot more to storytelling than shouting "RAAGE!" and laughing maniacally.

I agree that this is the first MGS4 cinematic that didn't immediately impress me. Perhaps because of the insane cheese factor, but more likely due to the horrendous shaky-cam overkill. Directors really need to innovate better ways of portraying frantic drama. Jesus.
