FUEL: Racing through a storm

Published 21 May, 2009 Duration 4:35

Things get a bit wet and windy at times in FUEL, and the reduced visibility makes this early race rather more interesting than its neighbours.

    Is this my computer, the quality of the video, or does the game really need that much work on its frame rate?!

    Looks like it might be fun though. I never realise you raced across specific tracks; I thought you had more say over your route than that (unless not all of them follow this template).

    It looks a lot more scriped than i was hoping for, and a little slower than i thought too. Will still buy depending on the result of a few reviews since it still could be shockingly bad.

    @Triggerhappytel
    The framerate is fine on mine... must be your computer dude.

    I think it completely misses the point. Giving you this huge terrain to race ..., and then setting a checkpoint every 100 meters so you see all scripted events and animations.

    It would be much more fun to just get to the finish line by any means.

    This looks fantastic fun, but it's a shame it uses the same tired old physics Codemasters have been using in every racing game since the original Colin McRae rally... namely a car that turns on an imaginary pole stuck straight through the middle of the roof.
