The demo was absolutely diabolical. How could they screw up the Dynasty Warriors formula so much? The combat was so clunky and buggered unlike the smooth and satisfying combos of the Warriors games.

Sadly, we are not since Koei were too cheap to licence it or any of the legendary soundtrack from the Japanese show that was in the Japanese version.

I dunno, looks alright to me. Theres not much you can do with Fist of the North Star other than make it into an average punch and kick fest. Still looks good enough for me to pick this up when its cheap.

Was I playing it wrong then? I wanted to like it but the combos were slow and awkward to pull off, and the fight with the guy who keeps locking you in a cage was really, REALLY annoying.

Lots of negging going on in here. Aren't we allowed to dislike a game?

Totally agree - that fight was really annoying and really drawn out i thought.
If you play the other character in the demo though (Rei?) then it was alright - more like your standard Dynasty Warriors fare.

@MattyD the ps3 version(can't speak for the 360) features the japanese audio as well as the english, japanese audio is the way to go with this one

Nah, the fight with Jagi was a bit slow, but I'm guessing that's the type of character Kenshiro is pegged to be. Taking a moment to look at the Combo list helped, because then you'd understand he's more a power move character, rather than your Dynasty Warriors traditionalist of X Y, X X Y, X X X Y, X X X X Y and so on.

It's nothing revolutionary what they've done, but I personally thought they'd done it well. You actually have to learn how to play with the character, rather than expect them all to be carbon copies.

Rei for example is all about the speed and fury. God almighty, the fight with the Fang Clan boss was fun when I picked up on the airjuggle trick.

You guys also realise you can change the VO to Japanese in the options menu, right? Looking at you there, MattyD.
