Looks good, except for the change of character model and voice. Some of us actually liked the rugged gruff character Cole, this one screams drake wannabe.
  • Ninja_Tino #5 2 years ago

Looks superb when watching someone who knows what they're doing, but those chase scenes appear fiddly and confusing. I like the new look. I do not, however, like the new voice.
  • Nightegg #6 2 years ago

Loved the first game. This looks Amazing:)
  • makeamazing #7 2 years ago

This does look amazing and a great leap forward in looks/tech. I do agree with others though that i dont think much of the main guys look or voice.... really dont know why they made him a drake wannabe... but still will get the game day 1.

Absolutely loved it! The eslectrical wire grinding into building wire hand grinding, whatever the hell it's called, was immense, and that electric tornado is beautiful. I was somewhat concerned about the electric cattle prod but it looks like he has plenty of stylish looking attacks for it.

Cole is looking great too, I'm fine with his character model 100%, wasn't he only bald in the first game due to the Ray Sphere incident?

    Eagerly awaiting the next update.

If the transition from cutscene to gameplay is really that seemless then colour me impressed.

Davisorle is right, a defo Uncharted 2 vibe from the helicopter bit. The tower he rides along just before jumping on the cars look very similar to one in the first game. Plus some of the streets looked pretty barren. Still a year away though and I have high hopes for this one
  • ISmoke #10 2 years ago

I passed on the first as i thought the demo was poor but that looks pretty damn tasty. Keeping my beady eye on it
  • drumbaby #11 2 years ago

Everything about this visually, both technical and artistic, is a huge imrpovement over the first game. Nice.
  • SEVQA #12 2 years ago

I love it that video put the Crackdown 2 advert played before it to shame. Infamous 2 looks excellent and hope the gameplay holds up, looking forward to the review.

    Jet Set Radio-tastic.

    Colour me impressed.
  • riceNpea #14 2 years ago

the game looks great but Cole is identikit. plus they've given him a less then impressive voice. it's nearly as dissapointing as David Beckham's. nice to look at but when he opens his mouth he sounds like a four year old.
  • Darren #15 2 years ago

That looks really good visually but it's disappointing to note that the sequel still doesn't have any AA so it looks as jaggy as fook. Really needs MLAA in my opinion. Still, the games looks a lot of fun and a big step up from the first art design wise and technically.
  • DaftVice #16 2 years ago

As much as I am looking forward to this I was not expecting it to look that exhilarating.

I like the new Cole and his voice. I really had no idea so many people liked ChristianBaleCole's voice. It was just so amazingly emotionless and bland.
  • M4RV #17 2 years ago

As mentioned previously by almost everyone, the character overhaul for Cole as well as his voice acting are just laughable. Is this the best you could come up with, Sucker Punch...?!?! It almost looks like that the original InFamous was all about sunshine and rainbows; For crying out loud...

His girfriend got killed, no matter what you tried, his nemesis turned out to be Cole himself from the future, his best friend betrayed him to try to become something he wasn't, among other things...

Once again, WORST character overhaul ever... Only a reboot of the series would justify such extremes.
  • Miths #18 2 years ago

Looks great - the new setting and more colorful visuals in particular. I never got all the way through the first game (but watching this video gave me a sudden urge to start playing it again), but I'm definitely leaning towards agreeing with those who feel there was no need for a complete makeover of Cole.
That said, I'm not sure it's something I'll actually care all that much about, unless Cole 2.0 turns out to be an annoyance (and I definitely haven't seen or heard enough of him yet to make that call).
  • TopZed #19 2 years ago

Ok... that was... well I'll just take it off my chest. Visually it's a great improvement over the first, but I mean, what have they done to Cole's voice? I'm supposed to look like and take the badass path talking like a 15 year old? The cocky and gloomy voice of Cole in the first game was awesome. And I will not talk about the choice of the model for Cole... it's... it's just not right. I understand that they wish to take the game to a more wider audience, but was it really necessary to make it so "teen"? I really was looking forward to this since I played the first game and the story seemed it was going to unfold into something cool in the future... but this is really putting me off.

    Highly unrealistic.

    Can't wait :D.

    Lol, looks rubbish.
  • twoism #22 2 years ago

Looks really impressive, especially for an open world game. Currently playing through the first and really enjoying it, though I hope they'll address the somewhat repetitive side missions and just add...well, more variety! Already liking the broader colour palette of the world.
  • Andeus #23 2 years ago

Oh nice Prototype 2.0 with lightning effects.
Seriously the new model along with jump animations look like Alex Mercer to me. Shame. Apart from that, it looks ok.
  • bigmickhart #24 2 years ago

well, its certainly looks nice. It did however give me a headache.
  • lagoonalight #25 2 years ago

To the guy above the game is indeed using MLAA.
  • laharl80 #26 2 years ago

Looks cool but i despise chase missions so that trailer has put me off a bit.
I still can't believe they brought Zeke back. I hated him.
  • Doctor_What #27 2 years ago

Personally I loved the comic stylings of the first game and the grumpy, beaten protagonist, so I'll happily join the queue of people who aren't very taken with the new art direction and character overhaul; however, I did love the action in Infamous and I'm very much looking forward to playing I2 with gameplay upgrades. The movement system was already great and this just makes it look even more slick.

I really don't understand the excitement over this, looks very meh to me.

    Just my opinion, not trolling.
  • makeamazing #30 2 years ago

I really don't understand the excitement over this, looks very meh to me.

Is it the gameplay or the graphics you think are Meh, because i cant see how anyone would think the graphics were meh... looks pretty nice really.

The first one was alittle colourless and though gameplay was sometimes simplistic, it was alot of fun and the story was well written. It was a very competant game. Pretty much the tech has been considerably improved from what we have seen so far in terms of graphics quality/models etc... so for people who liked/loved the original then of course this is where the excitement is coming from. Hopefully that explains where the excitement is coming from :)

I thought it amusing that they advertised a 360 only game before a video to a PS3 only game. Not sure they've chosen the perfect audience.

As for the video, there seem to be a lot of impressive improvements, did I see quite a few bits of damage to buildings there? Aways love that sort of thing in games. :D
But the character change, urgh, not good, not good at all, it's really putting me off actually. I mean the guy seems.... ok I suppose, but it's clearly not Cole any more, doesn't even seem slightly similar, you may as well change the ethnicity and gender while you're at it just to complete the joke. Either make small changes or tell us it's someone else please.
  • sonicyoda #33 2 years ago

I'm interested to see how the vampires from Blade 2 fit in with all this.
  • Grayvern #34 2 years ago

Agreed with the other comments just because you can't get the same voice actor doesn't mean you need to remake the character in a completely continuity breaking way.
  • I\'mListening #35 2 years ago

The first was brilliant and this looks impressive. The new Cole? Not so much..
  • irrelevanthuman #36 2 years ago

By the great Sagan! This looks damn good fun and looks like Sucker Punch are really getting to grips with the hardware.First game was fine but on this evidence there are big improvements visually and gameplay wise.
  • muscleblade #37 2 years ago

    Looks like great fun.

Might actually be a Crackdown beater.
  • Dismiss #38 2 years ago

Well, the first one was a definite Crackdown beater in my book, so I'm not surprised the sequel looks set to do the same.
  • Killerbee #39 2 years ago

Looks superb, with the exception of the makeover for Cole. I much, much preferred the original. This one is just too goody goody boy band and it doesn't seem to offer any sense of continuity with the first game's lead.

I'd be interested to see how his image chnages if you follow the Evil path.
