    Simply just amazing.

Not so much a 'teaser' as a 'te'. Looks good but I expected more than 15 seconds from a 42 second long video.
  • smirny #6 1 year ago

    ......... blimey.
  • polaris70 #7 1 year ago

Fk, I'm not one for great graphics (although I welcome them) but looking at the lighting in that gameplay trailer and even I can see that it looks sensational.
  • customfirmware #8 1 year ago

Looks awwwwwwwwwwwesome. Best shooter this gen.
  • evild_edd #9 1 year ago

Slick teaser trailer. Very MW in feel.

Music sounded like Battlefield does Terminator!?!?!

Anyway, will wait for reviews to see whether this can do anything new or significantly different to spice up what feels to be a very stale sub-genre at present.
  • smithdown #10 1 year ago

Is this really gameplay? I'm unconvinced. If it is - amaaaazing.
  • MMMMMM7 #11 1 year ago

An amazing glimse of the new FROSTBITE 2.0 engine.

Lets hope we have some seriouse Directx 11 suppport
with tessellation features as well as an even more advanced
destractibility engine. So far looks great.
  • vegard #12 1 year ago

    @smithdown

tbh I'd be disapointed with anything less than what we saw in the teaser (which indeed looks amazing).
  • towser #13 1 year ago

OK, this looks it'll be worth upgrading for...
  • Dizzy #14 1 year ago

Wow... if that really is ingame then it easily will be the best looking FPS.

Does anyone else get a bit of Mirror's Edge from that trailer. The animation looks amazing.

Weapons look like they're straight out of MoH multiplayer - excellent.
  • butler` #25 1 year ago

Well, can't knock their trailer-making abilities!
  • TormDK #26 1 year ago

I've said this on every site I've seen this trailer on today.

But where's the classic Battlefield music theme? It's not Battlefield without it! :(

EA Marketing people - Fix in next teaser plx!

  • JJrabbit #28 1 year ago

    That's *gameplay* footage?! Incredible!
  • Natas_Enasni #29 1 year ago

Nice to see it has prone. I didn't mind not having it in Bad Company 2 but I'm interested to see a more realistic battle simulator.

However: I am sick and fucking tired of pre-order "bonuses" which basically mean: We cut this shit out and made it DLC so we can force people to pre-order.
  • tobsen #30 1 year ago

Graphical quality will surely take a big hit in the console versions... kudos to Dice for pushing the envelope though!
  • tobsen #31 1 year ago

Graphics are a bit meh, just covered in post processing, no sign of detailed textures or anything

Most textures in games are just a cheap replacement for actual geometry, and this game looks like it will have *tons* of geometry.

Looks great, im a bit worried though that it might be so good we see an influx of CoD playing, Mic-Spamming, Bunny Hopping assholes
  • steninja #33 1 year ago

@TormDK - The battlefield theme is in there, it becomes more prominent at the end. It's basically a noise gate, tapping out the melody of the theme which is played using the heavy distortion as an instrument.
  • Daddy-Doom-Bar #34 1 year ago

Holy frickin shit I've got a BF sized hardon for this game. Think it might have to be the first SE game I'll pre order. How much will Back To Karkand be without pre ordering, I wonder?
  • hulahoops #35 1 year ago

It's supposed to be flipping brilliant fun too. Like, really amazing.
  • TheLittlestHobo #36 1 year ago

Not really a fan of this teaser shit, but it's great to see a sneak peak of the Frostbite 2. Cannot wait...

    Codemasters watch and learn.
  • MrMaaaaattt #37 1 year ago

    Holy hell, now i'm excited.

Preorder confirmed. I was late to the party with BF2 and BF:BC2, no way I'm missing out on this.

Will there be destructible environments in this a la Bad Company?
  • coolbritannia #39 1 year ago

Do THQ know this is following their Homefront trailer? It's like a before and after. Poor THQ, lol
  • FireMonkey #40 1 year ago

@Mmdicineboy - "Will there be destructible environments in this a la Bad Company?"

    Yes, but better and more.
GameInformer have been shown it and say that (in the singleplayer at least) there is a city level where an Earthquake hits, bringing down 7 story buildings around you.

  • EzyRyder #41 1 year ago

MoH multiplayer in any case is not as good as BFBC2.
  • ruslan74 #42 1 year ago

Ooooohhh... EA are going to milk this with DLC just like the "expansions" for BF2. Looks gorgeous though!
  • Darren #43 1 year ago

BF:BC2 was pretty solid graphically (on the PC under DX11 anyway) so I have no reason to doubt those screenshots as being representative of what BF3 will look like on the PC. Isn't it being built from the ground up separate from the console versions? What a shame then that the game is just another military-themed first-person shooter in a overcrowded market full of the same kind of thing. Aren't people fed up of this kind of thing already??? Aren't they all effectively the same? :?

Graphically impressive that trailer might be but might as well be called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 since that is exactly what it looks like! Personally, I find the genre hard to get excited about these days and relish the more inventive FPSs such as Condemned, Mirror's Edge and BioShock. Those are the games that I'll remember with fondness in ten years time not these generic personality-free soldier games with weak/silly storylines and predictable set-pieces. It's like these developers no longer care about making an enthralling single player experience anymore, they're just five hour practice modes for the online stuff. BF:BC2's campaign was pretty underwhelming IMO. :(
  • arcam #44 1 year ago

I'm struggling to think of any game that does what BF2 does. Huge scale war with jets, helicopters, tanks and infantry. If there were lots of other options I wouldn't be so excited for this game.

Battlefield (not Bad Company) and CoD multiplayer are completely different, once you get past the fact they are both shooting M16s and wearing camo. And multiplayer is what I'm talking about here, I don't even think they should have bothered with a SP campaign.

I'd agree that if you're looking for a new and enthralling single player experience that BF is the wrong place to look, but it's only recently (with the move to consoles) that they even considered single player. To me BF is still a multiplayer game (like Quake 3 or Unreal Tournament).

Bad Company 2 and CoD are totally different multiplayer experiences, and no doubt Battlefield 3 will widen the differences. It's like comparing a JRPG with Oblivion (both RPG's but totally different styles). There is room for both.

Personally, I prefer the slower pace and the more tactical thinking and emphasis on teamwork in the Battlefield series, but each to their own.
  • arcam #46 1 year ago

There's a bigger difference between Bad Company and 'proper' Battlefield than there is between Bad Company and CoD.
  • polaris70 #47 1 year ago

    @arcam
I was responding to Darren, who thinks all military shooters are the same. I was just pointing out that they are not all the same, and fans of the genre can easily point out the differences. Just something simple like Destruction opens a whole new level of tactics. I'm not an RPG fan, but even I can tell some of the differences between games. I think FPS military shooters get looked down upon from some other genres and I don't think that's fair to be honest.
  • Beano #48 1 year ago

    Great. Another military shooter.
  • dadrester #49 1 year ago

    Great. Another military shooter.

Surely you mean: Great! THE military shooter.

Most textures in games are just a cheap replacement for actual geometry, and this game looks like it will have *tons* of geometry.

errr... saywhatnow?! you do realise texture memory is one of the biggest overheads these days?! or do you mean in terms of actual development cost? generating textures with decent normal maps, bump maps, height maps, etc etc can be just as time consuming as building a decent detail model, except the model will still need good texturing to look halfway realistic. I think people still think textures comprise of a single photograph mapped onto a bit of mesh.

If it has zombies I'm sold! If not then the game sucks!!!!!!
