Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock - the first level

Well, this might divide opinion a little bit. The UK voice actors are revealed for Final Fantasy XIII, complete with what sounds a bit like Nolan North. And Leona.

Other than that, not bad... kind of a melancholic, contemplative feel...

Day 1 for me.

Would probably be better if they were able to massage the script into a less melodramatic ball of mush (but that might just be the trailer cutting random bits of stuff togeather into nonsense). VA's seem to do a better job when the script is better - or is that just stating the blatantly obvious?

l love FF but if i had never played one before i would get the impression it was soft weepy bullshit from that trailer.

Because it is Final Fantasy? Does the original dub make it sound like Citizen Kane?

However. Yesterday I kinda thought this game was something I might skip. Now I'm way more excited than before. The voice acting was better than anticipated and the story seems to be pretty good. And the graphics look epic.
I will probably wait for some 360/ps3 comparison before I decide which version to get. I love the 360 controller and getting achievements is nice, don't care about trophies. But the PS3 probably has slightly less compression on the assets. It all comes down to how much compression the 360 version has, and if japanese is selectable in any of the versions and if the load-times on PS3 are long. Disc swaps don't bother me.

But then it wouldn't really be a JRPG, would it?
Excessive melodrama and characters I couldn't even begin to empathize with, are the only reasons I've yet to play a JRPG I could stand for more than a few hours (I've made an attempt with around ten in total on the PS2 and 360, and I imagine I might end up giving FFXIII a shot as well - not that I suspect it will fare better than the rest).

In the west it makes us cringe at the thought of playing this game in earshot of another human. Leona Lewis and american "jock" voices? (fetch me that man who punched her in the bookshop!)..please oh please let the Japanese track be left as an option.
