HOw much of this was real game footage?
  • Sko #2 6 years ago

Yeah, it's bad, ain't it. It's like that Broken Sword trailer earlier in the week. Barely a fragment of real footage. Still, it's better than those trailers that are nothing _but_ CGI intros. What a waste of time they are.

The in-game footage does look pretty cool though, what little of it is shown anyway. Roll on September!

Play Metroid Prime Hunters. There's loads of FMV in there. The quality of the FMV won't be as good as that video but it's still pretty impressive.

    Yup. Or Meteos.

The FMV quality on the DS is surprisingly good.

And don't forget the Resident Evil: DS FMV! That was excellent. Especially the voice acting. I haven't laughed so much in years.

    Cool, looks nice.

I hope the reason it was "the only Final Fantasy that never made it to western shores" wasn't that it was shite.

I wasn't expecting it to be 3D, and I certainly wasn't expecting it to have FMV!

I think FF3 got passed over in the transition from 8- to 16-bit systems. By the time a translated version could be available, the world had moved on. So FF4 was the next Western release.

Community-translated ROMs have been around for quite a while as well.
