The gfx are getting closer, but the animation lets it down. It reminds me of how wooden the first FF movie looked even though if you pause it, it looks amazing.

Bigg diffirence between the look of it when actually ingame and the non-playable sequences.
Ingame you can't really see als these details, they're wasted effort. The animations ingame, as mentioned above seem to be glossed over. Particularly transistion seem to be completely missing.
Character modelling may be better then japanese fighting games by quite a lot, smoothness in the look of the actual gameplay is still in the stoneage.
