Far Cry 2 - Environment

8 (6 ratings)

Far Cry 2 might not have generated the levels of excitement surrounding the release of Crisis, but the game's bespoke engine is looking really rather lovely. Plus, we like zebras.

And if all the knee-jerk naysayers actually went and looked at that widely-available gameplay footage, they would be able to tell that this environment video is basically fly-through captured from the in-game engine. Dare I say it, much of the gameplay footage seems to exhibit more exciting features - real-time wind, point-specific damage to trees, etc, excellent flames/fire and even decent AI.

But ovbiously not being served up on a shiny platter means that such evidence surely doesn't exist, right? ;-)

I wonder who made the art for the mud house village.. it looked like it was ripped out of a Wallace & Gromit episode.

Amazing vid - one of the most atmospheric and exciting I've seen since the early STALKER videos (and that was a while ago, right?).

Wonder if they'll have Safari mode.

Riding in a Landrover with a rack of guns on the African plains shooting nicely rendered Zebras... hmmm

Sure, it looks great, but I'd rather just have straight-up gameplay videos.

its clearly not pre rendered L42YB dont worry if it was it wouldn't have a certain slight ropy texture to the grass and a tiny bit of lag on the grass also, its all been done before. but the village looks stunning, not sure if it's very far cry, looks more assasins creed in africa but hey. prob buy it :)

http://www.gametrailers.com/player/userm... You happy there is a 13 min video for you. This game is going to be amazing it will be better then any other this year and around tie with gears of war 2 but probably be better still as you can do endless things with map editor and meaning endless number of maps.
