Far Cry 2 - What to expect

Published 7 May, 2008 Duration 3:07

Far Cry 2's Dunia engine has drawn some appreciative gasps around the EG office, what with it's rather lovely depictions of the African savannah. Details on what the game would actually consist of have been like hen's teeth, however, so this low-down is a welcome addition.

I like what he said about total freedom to go anywhere, provided he means it (i.e. Midwinter/Flames of Freedom on the Amiga, NOT Crysis...)

I loved Crysis but it was still a linear game in essence.

    Oh the bloody melodrama.
"Far Cry 2 takes place in africa.... SO WE WENT THERE!"

Wasn't the first Far Cry meant to be a "go anywhere... do anything..." game? Because it was very much far from it...

If even half of this ends up being true, I'll be extremely pleased with this.

If there arent Lions and animals in the game I'd be very dissapointed. after spending thousands of dollars on going out there to take 7 gigs of photos.

Also isnt 50 square feet quite small? compared to Just Cause or GTA4?

fantsypants: 50 square kilometers, not feet.

Still, it would be, for instance a 5km X 10km square, which would be a bit small compared to any GTA I guess.

I didn't realise that squares could have different length sides!
