holy moley, its just oblivion in a post apocalypse setting! why put the fallout name on it at all?
im worried there is no where near the humour of the proper fallouts.

what else did you expect. as technically great oblivion was, it was boring, and didn't play very well. i dont understand why it was received with such high praise.

I'm guessing that the reason Oblivion received such high praise was because plenty of people didn't think it was boring, and plated it fine.

Isn't strange that, in a world of so many billions, not everyone agrees?

Have to second ProtoDjinn on this. Oblivion did not deserve all the hype it received. So Ok it was pretty, but even that couldnt disguise the very dated PC RPG ethos beneath the sheen. The sub menus were darn right ugly and cluttered and combat usually descended into aimless flailing at your enemies sheens. Add to this unimaginative NPC interaction which consisted of woeful scripting and dull face-on camera angles sprinkled with piss poor facial animation. I loved the scope and ambition of it but its execution on the 360 did leave me cold and judging by the footage of Fallout so far history may be repeating itself....

Damn, granted I never liked Oblivion but... The landscapes and indoors are awsome, they really got the feel right but seriously, in a world post-Mass Effect these dialogues and character interaction look so boring and bland it makes me cry. In previous Fallouts it was all left to imagination with the tech at the time allowing only so much, but if you're trying to make a "realistic" game leaving the player character an empty-stare mute is not lending you any credibility. Plus from the previous vids the combat looks like an over-the-top gorefest, without any real appeal to it.

Shit, I really want it to be good, but I guess it's too much to expect for Bethesda a bit of creativity about gameplay design and stray from their beaten path. I don't know if it occured to them but repeating the same design may not be suitable for each and every setting they make.

"In previous Fallouts it was all left to imagination with the tech at the time allowing only so much"

Agree. That's why, even after all these years, I still prefer 2D graphics to 3D. 3D has ALOT more potential than 2D. But to use this potential, you need ALOT of money and time. So you better take a 2D engine and focus on story, dialogues and gameplay.

There will come a time when 3D games use their full potential. IMO, we're not even half-way there.

That nuclear explosion was fucking awesome. Now to find a memory eraser before I go and buy the actual game...

It seems we have a lot of Oblivion critics writing here...and so by extension a lot of FA 3 critics. Don't play the game if you're not a fan, simple as that. Oblivion was wonderful, and I think FA3 will be too.
