Fallout 3 - Escape gameplay

This is the first of five gameplay videos from Bethesda's take on the Fallout universe. In particular, this clip shows the first couple of minutes of exploration in the world outside Vault 101, akin to emerging from Oblivion's Imperial Prison. As you can see, the game is running on a 360.

he wasted bullets?! can't believe that he did that this early on in the game... I wonder what that means with regard to bullet management

But but... what? I honestly fail to see what excites people in these movies. The free roaming is about the only good thing I see (along with some athmospheric moments), everything else looks so sub par I'm astonished by comments saying it looks fantastic.

Combat seems slow, with boring weapons and really stupid AI (yet again, so much for their RAI talk). VATS seems like a bother even after a few shots. Graphics are hit and miss, which goes for the music as well. Quests seem stupid. The world is an inconsistent mess. "Mature gaming" seem to equal blood and swearing.

(yeah I'm a Fallout fan before anyone asks, though not from NMA. another thing I'm a fan of: games that are intelligently designed)

damn right brinladen, bethesda has a lovely line in caves and hills but when you get to architecture and people they seem to live in some completely ill-educated fantasy land.
...and for all their brilliantly implemented realism why have exploding carwrecks?

Hmm... didn't Mythbusters already demonstrate that it's impossible to make a car blow up by firing bullets into it... even if you're aiming directly at the petrol tank?

... however I loved Oblivion, despite its many flaws, and I think I'm going to love Oblivion + guns + exploding body parts even more!
